A group of us from work went down to the local drag strip today after work. For shits and giggles, I ran the CL, and miraculously wasn't the slowest. 17.479 at 80.67 mph was my best run. Didn't do anything special to the car, just rolled up and ran. It was kinda fun, but really slow. I'm pretty sure I saw the grass grow to be taller at the end of the run than it was at the beginning.

Not too shabby considering everything I've done to the car, only ran a 16.7 on one of my bad runs. In fact, I believe they were all bad

I havent been to the drag strip since. Too lazy to tune the suspension for straight line racing. My tires with harden sidewalls don't help either for traction from the dig haha. Driven maybe 6k miles in the last 5-6 yrs on the CL.

2.3L 5 speed with ~160k on the clock, no working speedo (cruise still works, so VSS is good, so I assume VTEC was still working, but I couldn't hear it) and a bunch of shit in the car (probably 100-150lbs plus my 190lb frame).

I read somewhere on here that if the VSS isn't working, then vtec doesn't work either. I don't have any idea if the system is based purely on rpm, and therefore oil pressure, or if they're something in the ECU that trips and starts using the 2nd cam lobes. I would imagine there's a controller in the ECU, which is why you're able to adjust the vtec timing, but I don't know enough about the system to say either way.

On the topic of drag times. Mine was 15.9 at 88. Most were falling in the mid 16's though. 3.0, completely stock, but I had taken the spare out and all that crap. Hey that 15.9 beat a slow ass Vette. lol

I snapped the axle and burnt the clutch that night. Needless to say, after paying nearly four hundred for that tow, I traded the z3 for the Titan about 5 yrs back

CL in lawnmower status
Took her in to the insurance company today to get an estimate since it has two claims on it now, hail from last year and break in attempt from earlier this year.
So, looks like she is going to be written off, sometime this week they'll let me know how much i get for it.
I think i have some CL specific things i'm going to put up here or give away after the car is finally gone.
I'll still come here from time to time, but it looks like this is finally the end of the road for me and the CL . Thanks to everyone here for the help and advice . The CL has been the most reliable car i have ever owned and it was pretty fun ripping it around the last couple of days

haha.... turns out people like to lie in their vehicle descriptions.
One douche told me the CL had ZERO ISSUES and 140k on the odometer.
It actually had 180 and was falling apart.
The other one needed a clutch and the door panels were falling off, the bumper and hood weren't aligned, and it was as loud as my apexi n1...
Gr. The hunt continues.

Looks like its oil smoke more than HG smoke, I'd say either valve seals or piston rings. Either way, its time for an H swap for you lol.
I bought several things and messed up a couple things lol, but I'm almost there. Info in my thread.

So, my car's been down for a month thanks to the new Pioneer NAV unit I put in it that basically caught fire and started smoking like crazy. They're supposedly exchanging it finally, I should have the new radio sometime this week. I fired her up and let her run for 10-15 mins just to burn off some carbon and make sure everything was functional (already inspected all the wiring to ensure I didn't have an electrical fire) Got a couple of small tasks that I want to accomplish while the center console is out. Just want to drive my freaking car again

Super stiff dampers on stock springs (stock class in the SCCA only allows you to modify dampers, air filter, tires, cat back and seat belt, if you don't have to modify the seats to make it fit) was pretty brutal initially, but after getting used to it, the go kart feel was pretty awesome. I know a CL won't even be close, but I'm kinda thinking about making the Ack a terrible STF car (coilovers, big sticky street tires, full exhaust w/cat, intake in front of the throttle body, tune, etc.). I'm gonna need to work on the car a bit before I could do that though. Hmm, decisions decisions...

Since there are too many days between paychecks, lol. Paychecks come every 2 weeks, and I'm bored now that I'm out of school, and my mind wanders and I change it every 2 days
Who knows what will happen with my car. I think I'm going to talk to some of the local hotshoes, see what they suggest for a new car, then figure out what to do with my Acura. I love the car, and I really don't want to get rid of it, but we'll see. I may keep it as a winter beater, since it needs new tires anyway about the time winter is going to start... The car's not worth anything to trade it in, and the Miatas that I'm looking at aren't necessarily the best in the snow, especially once they're modified for autocross use (stiff springs + low traction = bad news). If I kept the car, I could put a nice little system back in it (potentially even an IB setup for the sub, which is something I've been wanting to do for awhile since I haven't heard one), finishing up the front stage with the tweeters I want, rather than what someone is willing to trade me as part of another deal.

I found a car but it wasn't a CL... 93 accord sedan (95k) good condition.
Anyway, this is CL relevant... How do you think the 2.2 oem CL wheels would look on a cb7 sedan? My photoshop isn't working... if anyone has a second or opinion I would appreciate it.
Edit: Long story short, I sold all of my fun car stuff because I moved out to Boston but I still need to have some fun when it comes to slight modifications. I just purchased my second ST sway set.
