Unexplained Noise

I've had my CL garaged since October of 03, and took it out 3 times in the summer of 04. I am bringing it out for this summer to ride again, only this time when I brought it out it is making a clicking noise that sounds like it is coming from the dash, on the driver side right behind the odometer. The noise is speratic and never constant... it starts when you start driving and continues even at high speeds. Same tone, dosent get louder or softer and is never the same, it just clicks when it wants to. I haven't changed anything to the CL since it was garaged. I have taken it to several mechanics and no one has a clue??? You guys no more about CL's than anyone I know. Any suggestions you have would be appreciated... I am lost???

clicking? u should take apart your dash (as if you where changing gauges) and see if there is something loose.. sounds like a electical problem to me tho.. but thats IMO..

may be a motor for your speedomoter/odometer. If you can't figure it out, lemme know, and I'll help you rip apart your dash.

Could be the speedo cable vibrating requiring it to be tightened. Roll down the window while driving slowly and see if you can hear it underneath the car as well.

theres no speedo cable. its all electronic. it could be a relay clicking. if a relay gets coroded or dusty it will stick and every time it vibrates enough it will actuate. look under your dash while its running w/a flashlight and touch all the relays till you hear the clicking. and go to the next one till u find it. thier pretty cheap at autozone.

I got in a little bit of trouble a while back and I'm just trying to lay low. Lets just say that cops in my area dont exactly share the same appreciation for our cars as we do. Plus I dont like to drive it in winter, im trying to keep it nice for as long as I can... P.S. guys, thanks for the advise , I will try what you said and find the problem.

OK, I understand how to get the pics on the thread ... Thanks Klepto, I would have never got that far... Mad Props ... Now how do I shrink them? Their not that big on my PC ... and in my opinion not worth posting when they are that big.

Nice pick GC, we still need to meet up soon, and take a cruise around. Maybe I can help you rip apart your dash if you need help. Let me know, PM me if you can't figure out what the prob is.

Exclamation Fog light etiquet...

Those lamps are not wired correctly. Your fogs should only be able to come on when the low beams are on. They should go off when the high beams or parking lights alone are on. You might want to fix that, or it could be bad for you some foggy night.
