Stubborn caliper bolt
Stubborn caliper bolt
Hello all... I'm doing the front brakes on my CL and encountered a stubborn lower caliper bolt when I went to do the passenger side... any suggestions on how to get this off? I can feel the ratchet start to slip so I don't think brute force will work all too well without stripping it any further... one of my friends recommended this PB stuff to try to get it unseized. Any other ideas w/o bringing it into mechanic?
Thanks in advance...

a lot of wb40. soak it over and over. tapp it with a hammer every time. make sure you use the right size socket. applying a little heat wont hurt. the rubber boots can be bought new at a local auto parts store. when reapplying bolt make sure you use a lot of grease.

Stuff like that makes me wish I had replacement bolts ready anytime you take anything apart. The shop I had my work done in had a huge chest with just about every bolt size I was like /moan

I almost always replace bolts/screws with new ones from honda when I work on my car, plus I have a nice pack of metric "import" bolts and washers just in case

It is, but I buy them for cost from a honda wholeseller, just about every bolt in my engine bay, and every screw for my interior pieces has been replaced
