Finally got my first speeding ticket today... @_@
I was rushing to work this morning and kind of still sleepy.
Driving 95k in 50k zone and got myself a $345CDN speeding ticket!!!

How much do you ppl pay for speeding ticket?
It seems too much to me..

 

well doing some rough conversions, if i were doing 60 in a 35 i wouldnt have a license any more, and the ticket would be about 150us

 

Ouch, that's bad...

It's pretty easy to speed and get away with it in Canada (at least in Montreal where I live), but sometimes, your luck runs out. Last night fortunately, I was lucky. I was driving on this long boulevard (speed limit is 50kms/h) to get to my girlfriends house, and usually I drive by at least at 90kms/h, but I decided to take it easy, and guess what? They had 4 cops in all directions with radar detectors... If I do speed it's on the highway. I just enjoy hearing the engine roar and feeling the acceleration...

 

i got caught doing 103 in a 65. had to go to court and judge gave me a $400 fine and I couldnt go to traffic school so its stuck on my record.

 

Ironically, I got poped for speeding this AM too. A dark green Dodge stealth was following me at my same speed (56 mph in a 35). I thought nothing of it. I thought he was just another dude following me because he thought I had a radar detector due to the speed I was traveling (I have a Valentine 1 Radar detector stashed high, next to my rearview mirror). My radar was on but he was clocking me by his speed not radar. Damn he was good.

Luckly he gave me a warning (he told me not to ask why).

Most cops use their radar guns too much and thats what I bank on. In this case, there was nothing I could do, and I knew that car was following me, I just didn't know why. I should have used my head! Live and learn.

 

Holy shit! A couple of years ago when I had my 300zx, I raced this chevy Z-24(yeah I know dont laugh)going down the highway. I kicked his ass twice and he kept coming back for more. Finally the third time he came back up on me we both took off again, we went under a bypass and I saw a state cop on the ramp to get on the highway. I started downshifting like a mad man. Of course he came down and pulled us both over. He said he clocked me going 98mph is a 65, he must have got me when I was slowing down. Anyways, somehow I talked my way out of it and just got a disobeying road signs and a $65 fine. I am a lucky sob.

 

damn you're lucky man! Cops around here would have your ass and you would have an empty wallet!

 

I was slwoing down from top speed. think it hit like 147 or soemthing if i remember. while slowing down I came around a bend and there were 4 cops doing a speed trap thing. got busted at 103. judge actually brought it down from over 100 to just speeding and I still had to pay $400

88 in a 70

 

How about the fine for 93 in a 55 work zone (fines doubled) and than being dumb i got pulled over again in a school zone this time (fines doubled ) for 35 in a 20. Now those fines suck but........i was really lucky and both of the nice officers let me go

Im not sure how much the 93 one was but the school zone was freakin $288

I've been good lately and so have the cops (knock on wood)
