Shock Sensors

Are shock sensors for the CL easy to install? Anywhere selling for cheap? The c-c-c.net site is selling it for $11.99 + $4 shipping...is that good or bad? Does it help a lot? I want good security

Installation is fairly easy. I ended up using a shock sensor from DEI (the company that makes Viper, Cobra, etc.).

There's some minor work involved. You'll need to connect 2-3 wires from the stock arlarm brain to the shock sensor.

Follow the instructions in this thread: http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...t=shock+sensor

Our stock alarm is not dual-stage, therefore it won't beep upon 1st impact. It will go off immediately.

If you have the sensor set too sensitive it will.

It's a fine balance between not having it set too sensitive (for those ricer exhausts) and setting it sensitive enough to have the alarm to go off with a good jolt (someone bangin' on your window). The sensitivity also is dependent on where you mount it.

I have mine set about 1/4 to 1/3 above "Zero sensitivity", meaning it takes a good jolt to set off my alarm. I mounted mine right onto of the alarm brain.

I've only had my alarm triggered once. I went to take a "Driving Improvement Course", and was parked next to a "ricer" Cavallier. The dude was cool, but his exhaust was loud as hell. He finished the test before me and left. When he started his car, I heard my alarm go off. I just shut it off via the remote.

eps no you need only one for the whole car. u can add more but really no need. unless u want to buy more than 1 from me.

i got mine mounted in the same spot. on that silver bracket attatched to the brain, however since i put it on my siren does not give that first armed chirp. it arms and the lights flash once but no chirp. it chirps when i dis arm it. u got the same thing? i aint so worried bout it though.

ill have ur sensor out first thing in the a.m.

ithink its cause i got it mounted to the brain which clicks when armed. i think its making the shocksensor vibrate making the car think the trunk is being tampered with. however, it is arming the alarm, and the lights do flash when armed. ill try to mount it somewhere else and keep yall posted.
