The question is, will it look any good?

I'm not one for fads, as a matter of fact I stay as far away as possible. However, one fad has caught my eye, mainly because of my love for the brand, ARC (surely everyone knows them?). Anyway, they make front splitters for eg and ek civics, along with dc2 and dc5 (RSX) integras and I'm sure others. From the look of them, they look like they'd really fit on any car (main dealer says so as well). Here's some pics:

So the question is would these look awesome or horrible, considering my car isn't able to be lowered? The reason I'm looking into these instead of a WW lip is because, yet again, I can not have anything over about 1 inch attached to my car/car lowered due to my driveway. Anyway, do you think these would look good? Or rice? They look awesome imo on integras and stuff. I guess all that rambling basically translates to what's you opinion?

Well computer's messed up so I can't see my bookmarks, I'll post the two sites once they refresh. I think this would look amazing on a lowered with, gray, or black 1st gen for sure.

They would look good if they were CF or painted, I'm not a fan of the ARC logos all over them

I like that style splitter, but think it might look out of place unless the car was lowered.

I think that's gonna be the verdict. I've never seen them on a stock height car, and I think there's a reason for that. If by any chance somebody does like the looks of these and would like to try them out, I'll be glad to supply the site (once I find it). They run around 200, which is an average price for splitters, especially from a good brand.

ARC is a sick ass company. Hands down to them. I love their "box" intake designs for ITB's for road racing. It's about $600 for the k series.

The splitter I like though is the one that covers the underneath of the body, and is mounted by bars from the outside of the splitter to the bumper. That to me looks fucking dope! The one I just described is the one I'm going with, by APR.

This is the one I was talking about. I love it. Again, you guys get get these custom made, pretty much for the same price as they go for. Just give them a call, and send them what they need. Which is a outline of your bumper on the floor on top of cardboard.

Yah I'm a huge, HUGE Arc fan, that's why I was so interested in the splitters. I was also thinkin of doing a custom intake box, but I don't have the balls to make a 400$ gamble on whether or not it will work/fit. And full splitters do normally look better, I just like the sides of the Arc design.

Here's one of the sites to buy the Arc splitters, I know there's one with them at about 200$ though.

Here we go, the cheaper site. If I get some Advans over the summer I'm gonna seriously think about em. But stock rims on stock height = no other exterior mods.

The reason I never liked the side splitters, is because they just don't look functional to me. The splitter I posted, you can adjust accordinly which affects the aerodynamics (downforce in this case) and covers the whole front bumper.

But if you guys could enlighten me on side splitters, and their functionality, please do so. I've never taken the time to do research on them as I always thought they were cosmetic pieces.

I was just thinking about this. I'm in no way a physics genius, but imo these could, if anything, negatively affect the aerodynamics. If you look at the ITR in the second picture, the way they are bolted on looks like it just "clumps" up the front. Unless the side "wings" have some functionality, I don't see how these could be for anything other than looks. And I hate doing things just for looks.

Here-in lies the problem =) Not sure if you've ever seen before, but I have a wicked driveway. I seriously can't lower my car an inch without scraping. I'd love to be the only CL to have them though

Well, it being from ARC, there has to be some explanation to the nature of these side splitters. Because they don't fuck around when it comes to building car parts. They seem like a track oriented company.

Um, if you're not lowering they serve no purpose, and will look out of place.
