03-05 Honda Accord has the J30A4, pretty much same motor that is in the CL, 03-05 Accord uses the 5sp Auto. I understand ecu, wiring harness, and shifter assembly, may not fit. However fitment for the transmission shouldn't be an issue, what do you think?

They should fit the same as far as I know, just letting you know they're rated different because of the weight difference, just the front springs would be different

When replacing the hood locking assembly, would I need to replace the cable that runs in the cabin for the hood release?

nope, you just need to loop the cable the same way as it was in the other hood release

The oem stereo can read most burned CD's, but was built way before MP3 format was supported on car stereos

Is the CL and a 4 door Accord dimensionally the same in terms of the interior? Specifically, I'm talking about the area between the B-pillar and the trunk...

Whenever I shift into first (when i start moving), i feel a slight shake from the clutch, as if its slipping a little. and sometimes when i shift into second, even when i give it plenty of gas, the car will shake pretty violently. whats the deal here? is my clutch on teh way out, or bad motor mounts, or both? or something else?

At what RPM does it happen? And what do you define as "plenty of gas"? Mine does this as well, if I let the RPM's drop too low (800-1200) while I'm letting the clutch out. If I keep the RPM's up near the 1500-2k range though, it's fine... Just maybe a thought. Also, where are you shifting from 1st to 2nd? That would probably determine whether or not it'll do the same thing in 2nd gear...

when i shift into second i usually give it anywhere from 1700-2500 rpms, and it shakes pretty violently, but only sometimes.

All the pictures are gone

Hey everyone, my question why is it that all the fixes that I would want and the DIYs and mostly everything that I would need to see a picture of, there is no picture. There are DIYs not even a month old and the pictures are gone.

Does anyone have any experience with those ebay aftermarket 'oem style' fenders? Need to replace my stock drivers side because of too low offsets and was tucking tire and creased the metal a bit...just curious how the fitment is on those aftermarket ones or if I should just try to locate an oem one instead and repaint

thanks

I had an aftermarket one on my passenger side and it fit fine. The only problem i had was that i didnt get the frame straightened out completely after the accident so my headlight sat in a funny position, but that's being addressed. The fender itself was fine for fitment.

Yearly changes question - what were the yearly changes to the 97-99 CL? Here's what I have so far:

97 - debut
98 - 2.2CL becomes 2.3CL, new grille, steering wheel audio controls added
99 - 2.3CL gets std. leather upholstery

Are there any others?

I think all of the 99's came with the premium package, it was an option for 97, and 98

from what i understand '97 2.2's come with leather, but only year/model where they are not heated...right?
98-99's get different center console woodgrain accenting, around the radio, shifter etc, looks a lot nicer IMO
also a bunch of different wheels, 97 2.2's is the fat 6 spokes, 97 3.0's is fat five spokes, can't remember what the other styles correlate to

Don't forget that the 98-99 console not only looks better, but it is much easier to disassemble. I've taken apart both (although the 97 was the Accord equivalent) and my 98 takes less than half the time...

I know the front bumper bulbs are 7440, and I'm trying to change em, because after I got my clear corners I saw they were some ugly yellow color. Gonna buy some White LEDs I think, but I had a few questions.

I've heard if you buy LEDs that they flicker uncontrollably faster than normal is this true?

Then I heard somebody say that they need resistors or else it can mess something up, but the ones that are on superbright come with em I think. Can anyone let me know if I need some special ones or if these ones are fine.

http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...ecs%2F7443.htm
And if theres any problems with these let me know n direct me to some good ones

My problems should be fixed and I should be good.
Anyone Object?

In most states your turn signals must illuminate orange/amber. If you have the super white or clear leds you could get pulled over.

Just checked some laws regarding turn signals in the front for Oregon and it states... "Front turn signals may be white or amber". If anything, the ones I got on now would be illegal, they're a yellowish-tan color.

thinking about storing the cl for winter instead of trying to quickly sell it now.
anyone know what has to be done to the cl, in order to store it for about 4 months or so, i'll prolly be storing it outdoors and not starting it at all in those 4 months, i'll probably take the battery out, but i dunno if i need to do anything else (temps of -40 or more outside most likely)
just thought i'd ask you guys as you'd prolly have more experience with this kind of stuff
i know you do it with your cl all the time Chris
any help is greatly appreciated

Stabil, learn it, love it, just bought a bottle today at walmart. Best thing to keep your car starting. I would still start it once a week if u can, but stabil is the best for keeping your system clean and gunk free, and starting everytime

alright, i'll look it up, thanks Chris
and i would start it all the time if i can find a place closer to home, but since all the space i can think of (my house or family member's houses) are all full, i'll prolly just store it at someone's cabin or something out of the way
