I hooked my up through the aux/cd changer plug. It then goes directly into the headphones slot on the Ipod. I found this method to be most prefferable for me. I could of hooked it up directly through the headunit and scrolled through the ipod using the headunit but that was just to complicated.

The radio ones do suck, but I've been using the aux technique for years. I use my laptop, and now my cell phone as mp3 players. Who needs an ipod

I don't think you can hardwire it w/ a stock headunit with out spending some money. I know they do make aux inputs for stock radios thou. I think I saw some at best buy or circuit city. You should try asking there.

I also have it plugged into my headphones jack and it sounds amazing.

I also have the Monster cable that plugs into yuor cigarette lighter and transmits through your antenna... it sounds fine on certain cars and horrible on others but in my opinion it is way better than any wireless transmitters

You would need a blitzsafe adapter and a few other inexpensive items. There was a thread about this before. Do a search, it has pics and everything.

edit: The thread I was talking about hooks up the mp3 player to the stock headunit.

My boss has this on his Celica, and I'm getting it for my CL for/after Christmas:

Sounds AMAZING on his Celica, it's true digital sound. It'll be somewhat lossy if you use the headphone jack on the iPod.
