humming sound
i got my aem cai delivered by ups today around 6:30pm. being that i'm so impatient i started to install it. i removed the factory air filter with no problem then i proceeded to install the cai when it started getting dark,"i was doing this nearby a park" so i just left it as a short ram until i receive the air bypass valve. which incedentally is being delivered in a diff package. i here this humming sound while the car is idleling and i here when accelerating a whistling sound. is this b/c i did'nt install the connecting pipe.if any one knows, whats the easiest way to remove the inner fender liner. desperately need some suggestions. thanks....

this may sound dumb but is it possible that an engine could get to much air from an intake and malfunction, also i drive my car to and from work every day. being that i had installed a aem cai will this affect my cars performance in the long run. i think that cai were intended for race cars that are driven on the track not day to day use. is this true.

I have a weapon-r dragon intake. And it has a very very loud humm. I don't know what to do to get rid of it. It also whistles at the same times you described.
If i take out that "thing" should the humming stop.

the resonator is that the piece thats under the stock filter which i have to open the bottom cover within the inner fender to remove. once i remove the resonator than i can proceed to add the 2nd pipe.

It's possible that it is contacting something that is rattling and causing a steady hum sound.
All the stock intake and resonator parts should be taken out. You have a much bigger engine than the Integra so it will sound different.
I have a short ram on my daily work driver and I've seen nothing but good things from it. Improved gas mileage and slightly more power. It is definitly worth the $$.

I left the resonator in, just for the simple fact that I did the install of my Short Ram at night. Do you guys think I should take it out? Also, since it's not a CAI, and therefore not in the fender, do you thik there should be a problem with water and stuff?
