Please, Can anyone tell me how to remove the headlight housing unit. Someone must have backed into me and broke my shit. It's the passenger side headlight. Thanks.

ive never done it on my cl but i did on my civic (RIP) not too hard. id assume it should be pretty much the same. 2 10mm bolts on bottom under front, two phillips head screws in wheel well where bumper meets front quarter, push in plastic type screws under hood, then you can get to the headlight, 4 10mm, 2 top, 1 bottom left, 1 bottom right. again this is for 96 civic but should be pretty similar. hope it helps!

Do I have to remove the bumber to get to it ? I was told a while back that you must remove the front bumber in order to replace the headlight. What year is the civic and not to diss or anything but how can a civic and a cl be the same? Just asking....

he right way is to remove the front bumper. this lets you gain access to the bottom two bolts. I guess if you had rubber arms and some freaky universal than you could.....maybe....

I have actually taken out my headlights and I did take off the bumper. Four eazy bolts and the bumper came off. Then there were 4 bolts (i think) holding the headlight housing on. Took em off and they just slid right off

are you seroius? i had a tough time getting the headlights out. there are actually 3 bolts (1 on the side towards the rad, 1 underneat that is a bitch to get out because you have to reach through the bumper lense opening to get it out, and 1 on the other side towards the fender) and 2 screws in the rad support. i broke the middle bolt bracket off while removing both of them but they are not even needed.

also, the lights need to come out before the bumper because there are clips holding the bumper cover to the actual bumper and are located directly underneath the headlights. the only way to remove the bumper cover without removing the lights is the cut the plugs from underneath the bumper.

good luck

Maybe the 3.0 is different. My whole bumper cover and bumper come off with 4 bolts. This lets me access the bolts for the headlight behind it.

Probably because it's a 98... i just replaced my headlight assem. 2 weeks ago. Bumper and bumper cover- as one- came off with 2 bolts on each side... I've taken mine off way too many times. I even took it off to cut my fogs in... i'm to the point now where i just take it off for the hell of it- try to improve my time.

I couldnt get my bumper off for the life of me. So i did what ross suggested and just cut the bottom two post of the light on each side. I reached all around and removed all the bolts so the headlight was loose but i couldnt pull it out. It sucked but the black housings look great
