hand break problem

since i got my 2.2 cl a month ago.. the hand break was very lose never held.. so i just tighten the bolt.. it seems like at the end of the thread on da bolt its striped. but it did tighten up the hand break.. so i pull it to only 3 clicks.. its really hard to pull after that.. i dont think it made a difference... ne suggestions.. or solutions?

Exclamation Brake failure potential...

You probably have a sticking caliper. You took all the slack out of the parking break cable, but the parking caliper is stuck in place and will not move. If you pull too hard, you will break the cable or the connecting bolts at one end or the other. You need to have that looked at by a professional if you do not know how to check these items. This is a potential safety, drivability hazzard.

Pretty much a comon item, but I am sure that most brake shops prolly have them. Glad to see you got it in to the shop.
