GRILL Manufacturing

As you all know, Alot of people are looking to have there 97 grill moddified in such a way, similar to ayougo's grill ( hint hint ) Anyways, i will be offering my services for these modifications in the next week after i contact some suppliers for the materials im going to need. Again, please restrain yourself from using bondo. Bondo will crack and become brital if youve already started this project. If not, i will fabricating these grills for you members to resemble Ayougo's grill to 100 acuracy. For custom colors, i would need your paint code and a picture of your car as a reference. Email me at cnaranjo@unitedrc.com for more details. Thanks

Any idea on the pricetag? I'm lookin to have mine lookin almost identical to ayougo's (since mine is also Inza Red). I'll keep the chrome trim, and have a tiny-hole black mesh.

Heres an older picture of my car, its the only one I could find with a decent picture of my current grill....

I hope you are able to get the ball rolling soon!

Alex, so you're not manufacturing grills, you're modifying our existing ones, correct? So we'd have to send you ours and have u mod it then send it back?

correct for the first month though. Im purchasing a injector machine, so i can make a mold out of plaster ( sacrafice my own grill for this ) cut it in half and fab the injector so i can create solid, one piece, composite grils.

Ahh, its you lol

So if we wanted it done in the next month, we'd have to send you our grill? But then in a month, you're gettin this machine and you'd be able to create grills without us sending you ours? I wont be able to drive around with no grill while its in your possession. Too ghetto lookin for my taste, heh. I'll prolly just wait for another month til you're able to create them, if I read that correctly.

Oh...and yeah, I'll be wanting the mesh part of the grill black, not my car color, if thats what you meant.

So they banned you permantly huh. Thats pretty weak.

You got any prices on this yet? Is there gonna be a big cost difference between us sending you our grills vs injecting a new one?

down time is only 3 days on moddified grills. the machine i need is very expensive so im taking a gamble on it. I need to aquire a months $$ ( 1000 or so ) to afford this machine. Plastic compound is still being decided because i dont want to use ABS ( brital ) and composite requires a high melting temp that the infuser might not be able to handle.

New grills will be at least 90-110 moddified grills are 55 shipped ( i dont use fillers like bondo , i use plastic ( infuse pastic ) to fill the Large holes. You got to do it right otherwise it wont look good or last long. ( ive had my grill for 1.5 years and its bullet proof

primed and painted flat black but........painted depends on the color. Paint is VERY expensive, and i would need to have several people with the same color purchase to make it worth the money. A pint of paint, clearcoat, primer ( primer is cheap ) can total 100-200 easy.

I would want to do it my color as opposed to black and there are only a handful of cyclones. I wonder how flat black would look. 55 is a good price.

with that mechine you're getting to make the grill can you make larger parts like side skirts and center console? you can probably make some new headlight housing so we can just slip in the projectors.
