gotta quick tag removal question

I'm planning on taking the tags off my trunk except for the ac logo. I know that they're just glued on somehow, but what will take it off with the least mess and/or cleanest look

use fishing line, or a (NEW) razorblade. then rub the residue off with goo gone. wax and you're done.

dont forget to heat it up with a heatgun or hairdryer. if it was superglued like mine you might want to pick up z-7 debonder.

Use a blow dryer to heat up the glue, then use dental floss to get the badge off. The residue comes off well with goo gone and some rubbing. Sometimes you have "ghosting" left from the badges, but you can just wet sand that, or polish/whatever.

Be extra careful with the razor blade so you don't scratch your paint. I got mine off really easily with just the hairdryer, floss, and goo gone. Only took me 30 minutes or so.

DO NOT USE A RAZOR BLADE use fishing line in a sawing motion, then use a credit card that u don't want or some old drivers license or something to scrape at the glue. Goo gone really helps break up the glue, just don't leave it on your paint or it'll eat the clear coat. After that, wash the excess glue off, and then wax with some rubbing compound

yeah definitely DO NOT use a razor blade. i just did mine with an old card, and a buffer, goo gone, rubbing compound and wax to finish it. worked out perfectly, zero ghosting. did the same thing to a couple of my friends cars too, it never fails.

a razorblade works perfectly fine, i've used one to remove stripes of my 240 and badges off half of my previous cars, without any issue...

Agreed, just give it a day. They make plastic razor blades just for this very purpose, go pick some up at the parts store. Why run the risk of shaving off a few layers of clear?

use the floss cuz ur putting yourself at risk of scratching ur paint or putting a nic in it just be sure to use a good polish if u have ghosting. start out with something that is less abrasive polish and if that doesnt work than use something a little stronger and finish it up with a good wax and you should be good
