well guys it looks like the CL is out of commision for a while, i got side swipped today, here is my discriptuion of what happened and pics to follow as well

This is how it happened......


On the date in question on 12/10/03, I was involved with a accident with Jose Romo. He was driving a 1985 Toyota Pickup that was blue in color, license plate number 6R70841. I was in my 1997 Acura 3.0 CL. I was driving on Monte Vista Ave. coming from the shopping center. I was going approximately 50-55 mph in a 45 mph zone. Upon going over Golden State Blvd. I was in the lane closet to the median and I saw Mr. Romo come out of the Quick Stop located on Monte Vista and Golden State. He then came out and instead of going into the first lane, Mr. Romo proceeded to cut across the to the lane closest to the median where I was driving, and cut me off. I slammed on my brakes to try to avoid hitting Mr. Romo. I saw the impact that Mr. Romo came across to my lane and side swiped me on my front passenger side. After coming to a stop on the side I came out and made sure Mr. Romo was ok and made sure he did not need any medical attention, where he stated that “I am ok, my arm hurts a little but its ok.” I asked him again if he needed a ambulance and he replied with “No.” A lady that was at the gas station came over and tried to communicate with Mr. Romo since he did not speak much English. He name was not given nor a contact number for her was given at all to me. I then called the Turlock Police services and told them about the incident and they gave me a call number to reference for my report, #033440187. Upon inspection of the car, my passenger side fender was torn, the passenger side mirror was taken off, and my wheel/axel looked like it was bent, and the side of the car was scrapped. I was not injured during the process and did not need any medical attention required. Upon inspection of Mr. Romo’s vehicle I noticed that the steering would not work, I asked him to pop the hood to examine what was wrong. The side of the car was not damaged but there were some scrapes. The engine I did notice that the part that connected to the axel was disconnected and was not attached to the axel anymore. I then proceeded to take down

this is the driver side wheel on the front, from the inpact i got tossed against the median and my driver side wheel front looks like its the only only bent on that side, i think the control arm is bent but i cant tell, have to wait but the wheel it like at a 70 degree angle



i think im not at fault cause he came into my lane and side swipped me, i mean i was going a little fast maybe 10 mph over the speed limit but not much more, i mean if that, he still came into my lane i mean if it would have been my fault i would have frontal damage, not side damage right? im so angry and i feel sick to my stomach to see my babby liek this but hopefully i will get her fixed and running soon

 

Damn dood!! That sucks!! Glad you are okay. I hate when people pull out and cross lanes!! Happens all the time.

Hey D, long time no see, I hate when peps do that but hopefully i will not be at blam cause i think that i wasnt, i mean he came across 2 lanes and cut me off and hit me, he doesnt have much damage, all that came off was the control for the axel, not body damage, there was previous damage before so i know not all of it was me

 

hopefully the insurrance will see it that way 2

i wish i had a camera to take a picture when the mirror came flying from the passenger side over the whole car to land in the center divide:'(

 

holy crap man!! im glad your ok!!! theose picts make me wanna cry! im soo sorry! I hope he has insurance because it sounds like its all his fault. Did u have a cop come to the scene to fill out a report???

 

funny you ask, i called the turlock pd and i told them about it and said i would like someone to come out and fill one out and they asked me if anyone was injured, and i told her no but im feeling a little hurt now, and since no one was injured she said they can only send one to help mediate the problem, i would have to come to the station to fill one out :sqntfawk:

also the insurrance that the car was registerd under was his brothers and not his, and his name was not on his brothers insurrance to drive the car, the other driver on the car was his brothers wife i dont know i will have to wait it out and see what the insurrance says first

 

that sucks man, it sounds like you might get stuck in a bit of a battle of paperwork. though i don't think you were at fault, like you said if you hit him there would have been more frontal damage. Hopefully your insurace will get your car fixed then take it up with him and his.

Thanks Rick, my knee is hurting cause i hit it hard on the door, cause i had the window apart since i was fixing the window regulator, the bar that sticks out that the armrest is screwed to, was bent from diging into my leg and i think thats how i hurt my knee, i was going like 50/55 in a 45 so not too bad but the metal bar on the door is bent and tweaked out and i need to replace it too, the most expensive will be the fender and the driver side wheel cause it looks bad

that thatwrite up i did when i got home from bringing the car home and while the accident was still fresh in my mind i wanted to make it as accurate as i can so i have something, the police wouldnt even come out since no one was hurt

 

you should just say that you feel some pain or something. have them send someone out than just don't go on the ambulance.

but that shit sucks. since the guy is not on the insurance, i doubt the pickup's insurance will cover your damage. your own insurance might have to pick up the tab, if you have full coverage. or you might have to sue him

Joey, are you guessing your speed? Or, going off the speedo? Remember, those little tires will throw the speedo off.

 

dam joey , i hate to see a cl like that . i dont see y the ins wont cover it .it dosent sound like it was your fault ..... do you have a good body shop to take it to.... well imm glad to hear that nobody was hurt

i know D those little tires throw off my speed i know by 5 mph faster thats why i said 50-55 cause i think the speedometer was at a little below 60 mph, the tires give me about 3-4 mph over the actual speed shown on the speedometer

 

Keep the speed thing to yourself. Sorry for the accident, glad your OK. He's prolly already back in Mexico.

 

well guys the guys that hit me i called his house today and his wife speaks english pretty good and i tried to explain the situation, and basically that he was at fault and i had the right of way technically, i woke up this morning and felt like there was something on my side i was sleeping on, but in fact that metal bar that sticks out for the panel and that you screw in one screw for the panel at on the driver side,, the metal bracket dug into me and made 2 punchure wounds and a nice size bruise and then my back is hurting a little on the side and my neck is a little stiff but thanks for the support all
