front brakes

I have an Acura 1998 2.3 CL and I need brake pads along with front rotors. What is the difference between semi-metallic and organic pad material for brake pads? I'm just a casual driver looking for good pads, but nothing too dramatic & pricey.

Get the factory or OEM spec ones then.

A lot of aftermarket pads will say OEM spec, it means Original Equiment manufactuer. They usually have the specs like the factory pads from acura. They noraml run of the mill stuff, but they probably be quiet enough and stop.

brembo also makes plain crossdrilled and plain blanks. Depends on ur budget. crossdrilled are nice, works better in water and mud. But they not suppose to last as long as the solid blanks. They both don't really make a crazy different in stopping distance, tires would affect it more probably.
