dash light color change
dash light color change
So I searched everywhere and all I found was this on the forum:
http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...ht=dash+lights
Is there a picture of this done to a CL? Anyone have it done in different colors? Thanks a bunch.

check out our black market for his post about selling everything and also you can try pm'ing him and ask him about it

yeap
I'm the one that did it
I replaced everything, took about 1.5 hrs
Thanks for the credit joey!
Well, I have LED's + resistors for sale. 6 3mm and 6 5mm + 12 resistors for $20 + shipping. (Shipping should be like $3 or something)
I have pics in my homepage I think....hahah....maybe I only have the clock
i'll host some pics of them done to a CL, but it's not my CL, but its exactly like it:

To do a complete blue conversion: You only replace LED's for the small things, like cruise, dimmer switch, climate control.
The gauges use 9LED bulbs, In my case, as well as the pictures guy, we used 906 bulbs (9 LED bulbs that fit into the 194/168 socket). Then the clock and the climate control display use blue screens to display that type of blue.
Nippon_WA has my blue LED conversion, and I believe he's selling it for pretty cheap. I think you'd be better off buying off him, since he's only asking $20 + swap or somehting. That's exactly how much I charged, so you'd be getting a pretty good deal. It took a lot of soldering skill to do it, since the bulbs are so small. I also made it so that there is a lot of electrical tape, so the wires will never touch and short-circuit the fuse that controls the interior lights or something.

nippon don't think knows how to do them
I know that I'm one that has done it, I dunno who else did. I think one other person did. The design of the LED into the bulb socket is the hardest part. Soldering isn't that bad from there.
make sure you use the really thin wires...i think 28-gauge? its the only way tha bulb socket will go back onto the board of the device that your changing. The LED wires are too big, so I used half of the resistor's wires to fit in there. When you do that you will have extra wire sticking out of the back, so you have to bend them, and put electric tape around them so they don't touch anything.

unfortunately thats impossible
every piece in those have a greenish tint on the display, which is why it turns that color
a strong enough blue will overcome that color and display a blue.
I tried to do hyper white, which is why i also have hyper white LED's...and they didn't work well...

hmm.. yeah that looks pretty sweet, but I don't think it would look good in my car. I have the tan leather interior, so I don't hink it owuld fit too well, I also plan on painting hte exerior silver, but I'm not sure that would look too good withthe tan interior either. Any coments on how god/bad that might look?
well here's the thing
i've explained it above
there is a green filter sheet behind every button almost, so you need a strong solid color
white won't do it, it'll just come out green.
If you get a REALLY STRONG red, it'll come out
I dont think amber will work
blue i know works
i dunno how to get rid of the green, since it kinda is built in, instead of a sticker. you could try acetone, but i dunno
i heard of a 3.2 CL on this board using acetone on the gauges and removing the color to make white on the gauges, dunno though
