I don't know the correct term to explain this and i think all cl's might have the same problem.. I have an automatic and when i hit 1st gear it lags like a bitc.... i changed my transmiision fluid and got my gears cleaned, it helped for a week, but now its getting worst. Please help me with advice.......

 

how can you get yrou gears cleaned? you have to drop the tranny and disassemble it to see the gears and if you had it down you should have changed it

sounds like first signs of tranny going out, i would get it done asap before you do anymore damage, it will run you have 1500 to 2000, in my case 2300 to have it rebuilt

mine does the same thing...it drags the hell outta first and then slams into second,
the rest of the shifts aren't bad but, the 1-2 shift makes my skin crawl. now if i
could only convince the missus to get a 6 speed G35

I have an 99 Acura CL 3.0 (No MoDs) and I dont really drive it that much, I bought it new with 178 miles and I baby it, and now I only have 76,000 miles with no Mods and I had to REPLACE my TRANSMISSION ! ! ! and my friend had a 97 CL3.0 and his tranny went out at 86,000 miles !!! then I Looked in "Consumer Reports" Magazine and it showed that the Acura 97-99 CL 3.0s were almost a perfect car except for the transmissions and even the Acura dealership told me that the 3.0 motor is too powerful for the transmissions.

 

way to search,but yeah they should've made a 3.0 6-speed and maybe then it would be "perfect". it's like a tranny lotto cuz mine lasted 150k others blow at 50k. in all it's still a great car.........

My 3.0 tranny went at 87,000 so I feel your pain

 

The Acura dealership where I bought my CL replaced my transmission with a new one,not a rebuilt tranny and they only charged me for labor, they felt bad about it goin out at 62k . The total price was a lil over 7k which they paid most I had to pay about 1400 for labor. so after them doin that, i have No complaints. the Acura Cl is a nice car, I want to put a turbo in mine, but I don,t know much about tuning a cars engine.

 

My transmission slips in second and shifts prety hard into 2nd gear but all other gears shift extremely smoothly. I was just reading another thread with the same problem and they said try to replace the fuel filter switch or something of the sort? I'm on my phone right now so I can't really search but can anyone confirm or add some more info to that?

 

Just search my name... Been there done that. Hope I don't have to go there again.
