what year and how many miles do you have. 97's i think are covered for like 150k miles and the 98/99's are covered for 100k for the emissions extension.

also do you have a 3.0 or 2.x...

eather way the egr valve is prolly still good you just have to take off the intake maniflod and clean out all the carbon in the egr paths.

did you reset the code? if you dont reset the code it will not just go away just because you fixed the problem.

ok got it done.. it runs a little better.. pick up is better, but still not that great..the shop here f'ed it all up at first and said nothing was wrong...the car was shaking, cluster guages were shaking, car shut off on me twice and then once i got home the check engine light came back on and this time it read, PO301 which is Cylinder 1 misfired.. i called them up, pissed like crazy.. got back there, they looked at it after i spend $150 to get it fixed, then said," yeah one of ur spark plugs was not back in all the way, so ur lucky that we didnt charge u for that one spark plug.." in my mind i said "i'm lucky?!?!?" they are lucky i'm not ready to kick some azzzz then sue them.. man i'm still pissed..on top of that, they said have a good day..yeah right..i dropped the car off at 815am..said it'd take 1-1 1/2 hrs to fix..took 6 hours.. then made me late for work.. sorry for the rambling but i had to get this off my chest.. thanx guys..and good luck w/ urs if u need this done.. deep breath.. whewwwwwwwwww!! haha.

Wow!!! Never heard of a code 1300, those Jackoffs messed your car up . I would not go back to that place if I were you.

i went to them this morning..they said what they did w/ the EGR is basically cleaned it out like we all do it..w/ the carb cleaner, so they did right i guess...now my luck being soo bad, these codes came on..i took it to a place i trust more and they fixed it all for me for $200..the PO301 & P0302 are Cylinder 1 and 2 misfires..cuz the fuel rail needs cleaning and the ports for the fuel to go thru from the rail to the cylinders were clogged..only 2 showed up on computer, but when opened up, there where 3 clogged.. and the P1300 was a computer misfire due to 301/302..now everything is cleaned and fixed.. after $350 spent, it better all be cleaned up!!!!!!!!!! now left is a new muffler, and i'm done.. i hope.. crossing fingers.. thanx to everyone for the help and comments.. later..

the egr doesnt get cleaned with carb cleaner, should have gone to the dealer, the carbon deposits need to be drilled out and the egr replaced.

i took my car to the dealer, 97 cl, with 101k, and the egr code they told me its NOT covered under any kind of emissions warranty, what can i do now?

oh, this guy says he did hs timing belt and water pump for $475, is that normal? i was told by my mechanic that since i hit 100k i should do it, estimated price $1000

if they say its not warranty, you can try another dealer, or just suck it up and pay.

475 seems like a reasonable price for a smaller shop to do the 100k service, dealers usually charge more like 900-1000
