Check Engine Light is on
Check Engine Light is on
Hi, I tried doing a search but found nothing here.
This morning, it was about 9 degrees and the Check Engine light came on. I tried doing three restarts after checking the security of the fuel cap like the book said to no avail. After more driving, it's still on. This is all I need right now
Could some bad fuel with cold weather do this? I just fueled up yesterday.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rick

I would bet it's the emssions thing.
My check engine light came on a few months back and I completely freaked out!
Called a Honda/Acura specialist and he told me to take it to the deal cause it was probably the emissions thing. Scared and with my fingers crossed I took it to the dealer.
It was the emssions thing. They fixed everthing. . . for free!
So just bit your teeth, cross your finger and take it to the dealer!
Better safe then sorry!
GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for the responses, I will take er in this morning since she needs the ignition recall done anyway.
Niedejb, thanks for that great link, I will keep that for when there is no longer a warranty, as it looks very helpful.

Here's what they found:
Code PO401. Clogged EGR Port
Action: Clear EGR Port and install update EGR pipe
Part # 06175-P8C-A00----Kit EGR Pipe
# 16177-P8A-A01----Gasket
Just in case anyone has this trouble outside their warranty.
While I was in there I got my ignition switch replacement and a car wash.
Total Invoice...........................$ 0.00
