Car spinned out.
It was raining all day yesterday & I was hitting this curve a lil too fast. I underestimated the curve because it wasnt even that tight. My car lost control & did a 180. It was a one way curve leading up to a ramp about 1.5 lanes wide. Luckily, no one was behind me. Since it was a one way, on a curve, I couldnt make a U-turn because another car might have rammed into me. I quickly reversed up the ramp & did some crazy stunt spin then went on my way.
The next car that came up behind me was like WTF?!?!?! It felt like a movie. All that was missing was the bad guys chasing me with guns lol.
Anyways, doing the 180, my front wheel hit the curb a lil hard. I did a visual and sound check. Everything was ok. Should I look into it or wait & get it checked just in case?

DAMN!! I bet your heart was racing after that!! Good to hear that was all that happened.. Could have got ugly.
Yeah, check the balance on the wheel and possibly have the alignment checked too.

In comment to this........."if you lowered your car a little and added a rear strut bar you probably wouldn't have spun out and just fish tailed a little"....... You would have not fishtailed but just slid straight due to the lack of body lean and the wet roads. I know because this has happened to me many times. I did once do a 720 on a dry highway doing about 90 when something fell off a truck infront of me and I swerved to miss it. That was before the suspension and stableizer bars. It was a rush. Didnt put a scratch on the car. But probably about 15000 miles worth of wear on the tires from the skid.

yea, definitely have your wheels balanced. that will show if your rims are damaged or not. that's how i found out my rims were bad after i bought it from the previous owner.
btw do your tires have a good amount of tread on them? more tread should give better grip. depending on how wet the road was though, you'll still skid out of control if you are going a certain speed no matter how much tread is on the tires.
always go slow on a turn with a wet road. my gf learned her lesson when her civic slammed into an on-ramp wall and was totalled because of a wet/curved road. not only did she lose the car, but got a ticket for "reckless driving"...doesn't that suck?
i did a semi-controlled 180 with my old 89 acura legend on a wet road behind my job's building 2 months ago. it was fun, but i was aiming for a 90 degree turn (oops!). after playing project gotham racing for a while, i wanted to see how many "kudos" i would get doing it for real hehe...i would've got -zero- kudos cuz i touched the curb. o wellz.

First of all, there's no need for those smart remarks. Keep them to yourselves. This is a forum, NOT a daycare center.
2nd, I admit it was my fault. I'm usually a cautious driver but I must have underestimated it. Of course i slowed down on the curve. I've driven on it dozens of times, under dry and wet conditions. Thats why it surprised me when i spun out. Now that I think about it, I recently replaced my all season tires for regular tires. I guess they really do make a difference.
I'm going to check the rims soon. Thanks for the advice. And sorry to hear about ur girl's Civic Scorpio.

After tonight, add another to the "spin out" list. My friend did a 1440 as I watched in my rearview mirror driving in front of him. Jumped a 1 1/2 foot walkway and put a hole through the concrete side rail then did a 720 before it came to a stop. Airbags and seatbelt saved his life, but the car's totalled. Please stay safe.
