Big Problems

Hello everyone, well tonight I was driving and I noticed that when I start moving from a stop in first gear and I shift out first I hear a thud/pop. It doesn't happen in any other gears, my clutch is going out but it isn't happening in other gears so I don't know what it could be. It pretty much happens whenever I shift out of first. What's going on!!!!

could be several things but if it gives you trouble going into gear its the first gear synchronizer, otherwise it could be the throwout bearing or even one of the springs on the pressure plate. hard to tell without firsthand checking it out.

Find a good tranny shop is the best thing I can tell ya, a good shop foreman or head mechanic can tell you what's wrong within a couple of blocks.

Mines been like that since it rolled outta the factory its just something it does, when I bought it from my Mom she told me the same thing. My clutch has always been fine. My mechanic seems to think Im relasing the clutch to soon and putting it through as the gate closes.

However I know Its always done it though and Ive never had clutch problems but my friends always joke me if you cant find em grind em. I know exactly what your talking about you drop into second and it makes a metalic clanking/scrapping followed by a hideous thud and then the power transfers to the wheels.

Mine only does this when Im accelerating heavily which is every 5 seconds. Also it happens quickly its not drawn out it happens in less than a half second for it to make that noise and the power to be transferred and acceleration to resume

Sometimes if it doesn't want to go into 2nd, go to 3rd first then come back to 2nd, that usually lines it up nicely.

it isn't a crapping noize, something like a pop or a thud. I was thinking maybe cause my clutch is going out.
