big problem??
big problem??
i was driving today and i was REALLY low on gas...i parked the car to go the ATM and when i got back my car wouldnt start. so i took the key out put it back and cranked it again and it started. i was pulling out of the parking space and it make a puttering noise like it was going to turn off.
usually when my tank is low it takes a few more seconds to turn the engine over.
should i be worried about this or what?
appretiate it

gas is expensive but, wow!!!was your low gas light on if so i wouldn't worry. i heard it take more gas to start a car. i personally never really let it go below 1/4.my car seems more retarted then normal if i i don't keep gas in it.also runnin on e isn't the best idea either cuz it picksup all the shit that leftover in the tank.
stop runnin your poor cl on fumes.

I like to fight the top half of the tank. I know it doesn't matter in the end, but it is easier to spend $20 than it is to spend $40. Just keep fuel in it and you will be fine.
Oh, one other purpose of staying topped off...
Keeping fuel in keeps moisture out. Moisture is your fuel system's enemy.
In addition, if a state of emergency were to happen, it is nice to know I have around 350 miles of travel rather than 10 miles.

Nah, that is a certain exageration. But it does take more fuel to start then to run. It would be more comperable to 5 minutes of idle time as opposed to turning off the car and starting it again. If you are gonna idle longer than five minutes, turn it off.

shut your car off and on 30 times...that should kill about the whole tank of gas if your internet web forum theory is correct.

10miles? i dont know about that....but it does drain more gas and battery when starting up a car. Also bad thing about drive with a low tank of gas is...once it get down to the end it a really good chance the fuel pump will suck in some dirt and other junk that built up in the tank over the year. i never let me go lower than 1/8 of the way.
Its amazing what a little 15% C4–C8 straight-chain alkanes, 25 to 40% C4–C10 branched alkanes, 10% cycloalkanes, 25% aromatics, and 10% straight-chain and cyclic alkenes will do...
