AEM CAI Problem

Hey I have a 97 3.0 and I think I got the wrong CAI. I got the 98 Accord V6 intake. Does anyone know if that will work on my CL, or do I have to try and sell it and get the 94-97 Accord V6?

The 98 V6 is the right one, that is the one I have on my car. Let me know if you need help with the install.

You know I basically just opened the box and saw that the instructions say it is for a 98 Accord V6 or 2001 CL. I will check it out this weekend, hopefully it works!

Another question, I got a bypass valve cause it rains all the time here in miami. Where does the bypass valve install? I though the CAI tube was this 2 pieces, but this one is all one piece.

Veilsidecl, I am gonna hit this on saturday morning (when my hangover stops) and get it. I have put a short RAM on, but I hear the tricky part is the fender well. I have instructions, so hopefully it won't be too bad. I'm just not a mechanic. I am just a white collar worker!

Does anyone have a picture of a 3.0 AEM CAI with the bypass valve installed? I'm not sure where the bypass installs.

Mine is a two piece and the bypass goes in the middle of these two pieces, unless is a new design I wouldn't know where it goes on the one piece you talking about. You need to remove your front driver side wheel to be able to do the install, otherwise you'll have a hard time doing it thats what happened to me for being lazy.

Well that is what makes me think that I have the wrong one! It is an all one piece set-up! Yeah I thought it was supposed to be a 2 piece set-up that the bypass goes in the middle. On the instructions it says it is for 98 V6 Accord.

yes, it is supposed to be two pieces, the bypass goes inbetween. as for the install, it is not necessary to remove your wheel. just turn your wheels all the way left before you begin and you shouldn't have any trouble. i'm mechanically challenged as well and i had no problems.

Im hoping he was talking about the wheel well, not the actual wheel.
