TLX in the wild... and new pics
Hi All,
The silver photo was just posted on Acura's twitter. The front facing photo someone recently captured and uploaded to instagram, and the back photo someone captured and uploaded to twitter. I figured that many more of these "in the wild" pics will be surfacing soon, so we can post them here as well as any new shots of the TLX.
I'm still on the fence, but if I do decide to purchase a TLX versus an A5... I will be going with the silver as it hides the beak a bit and better captures the lines.

those rims are hideous. I wanted so much for this car to go back to the 3rd Gen roots, but they just want to look like every other dull silver, brown, dull red sport luxury sedan on the market . Why would I buy this over anything else except to say I am still in the Acura family. This car makes the 09-11 look really really really good right now . Giggitty ole right!

From the angle, I think it's ridiculous that Acura still shows the exhaust under the red things.
What are they trying to do????
Either hide them completely like the new MDX or show them like the 4G. Nevertheless, this should have been the 4G TL.
Sorry, the brilliant group of engineers" (as Acura referred them to as, on their Facebook)

I like my '12's rear end, big and beautiful, this thing looks like every other car out there. I want some junk in my trunk!
I'm sure wheels and tint will make it look a whole lot better, but i'm not a fan of the jewel headlights, oh, and because it wouldn't be me without bringing it up again, hp < 300 just makes me sick

the grill looks almost identical to the '12 refresh, I had my grill color matched for around $200, but kept the chrome lining. I though it matched the flow of the car better that way, with the chrome strips along the windshield

But they aren't hidden! <anger at Acura> I had a '02 Accord coupe that had the same black mufflers with no tips and always thought how much of a fail that was. Proverbial train wreck, I can't stop watching the wheels come off this poor car.

Agreed. In certain trims, the Accord does appear more sporty and attractive. I actually think it has a great road presence. Glad I didn't wait around...

KeithL & atruedsgb....Thanks guys. Its ironic isn't it. I was on a small road trip two weekends ago and saw a white Accord on the opposite side of the twin highway and it sure looked good. I agree that it doesn't have the luxury inside that the TLX will have but they nailed the overall design, nailed the wheels and that sure looks appealing to me.
I look forward to getting mine next week.

Because we don't have a corporation and budget telling us how to do things. From looking at the prototype vs. the production model, it just looks like "here's what we can do" vs. "here's what we're allowed to do". I'm guessing somewhere they had to tone the car down so as to not scare the public (lol) or the bean counters took over. Of course, they could give some of it back with a body kit.

^^ I understand but they keep making announcements that they are committed to restore the passion into the brand, wanting to bring their automobile segment back to life, they give us a sexy prototype and then THIS!?!
Examples....The exhausts....I am ok with them being not visible.....just make it NOT VISIBLE! The wheels, I mean for god sake, my skinny white ass looks sexier than any of these.
I understand that cuts need to be made and they did, no visible tips, corners cut here and there but if you want to be taken seriously and be successful, you still have to deliver a product that appeals to people and make people want to buy it.
I'll use my Accord example again....a car costing much less yet, stirs up more emotions for me.

I'll add my voice to the half showing exhaust and the wheels issues. Hopefully the production delay will give them time to address the half hanging exhaust issue. I wonder, since the TLX shares the same platform with the Accord, how much clearance is there above the Accord's mufflers? Probably not much.
As far as the rims go I think they are hopeless
PS. I agree with thread starter that silver is by far the best color for the TLX, at least from what we have seen so far.

I'm still thinking I'll wait to see this in person and see if they have a body kit or something. It does look dull in some pics, but sweet in some videos and other pics. I thought the RLX was rather blah in pics, and while I still the rear is a bit generic, I thought it looked great in person. I'm hoping for the same with the TLX. The hideous wheels on the 4-cylinder are, well, hideous. I think these can be replaced, however. And yes, I think it's stupid to have to pay that much for a car to immediately turn around and get rid of the wheels.
Ultimately, I think many people are too opinionated (both pro and con) for a car nobody's (or very few) have seen in person, driven, or gotten a glimpse of its pricing. There'll be plenty of time to be pissed off or jubilant once the thing is released (hopefully sometime this year ... lol). In the meantime, I'm trying to determine when the 2015 Q50 will be coming out or something... I seriously need a "Plan B".

may look best in silver - odd as silver in Canada is only available in non-leather trims with the Accord. Considered a low rent color? Ah maybe this a more expensive silver
just going on pics the Accord imho is nicer looking car from all angles.. Then again I think the civic looks better than the ILX. My autocorrect thinks ILX is "old"....I just noticed...

I've been seeing a few Accords with nice looking LED strips just beneath the headlights. Looks pretty darn good IMHO. I assume this is the Accord Sport or hybrid? If so, I have to say this particular Accord looks better than the TLX.

This can is not designed by Americans but American'ts. Accord is world wide, like the TSX was a worldwide accord. Therefore Accord looks more sleek. TLX might be handle like the Accord it is based of but why would they leave out the dual exhaust that looks great on the Accord Sport, the 2nd cheapest Accord?
I think I will upgrade to an Accord Sport from my TSX or EX coupe with 6MT.

The Accords with the LED strips are the V6 models.

Yup, every time I see an Accord I can't stop staring at it. In a parking lot the other day 2.0T ATS and a Accord Sport were sitting next to each other and my wife and I examined them both for a good few minutes and while the ATS is bit more visually appealing I think I would write the check for the Accord because of the overall package. The Accord touring is every bit a car the 3G TL was and for me that is the right amount of tech, luxury, and safety.

No wonder Acura/Honda is delaying the launch until late Summer. They've clued in on the beak and exhaust tips and will make adjustments so that most of us here will be elated.
Bravo Acura!

No matter how one feels about the appearance of the 4G, it has a unique look, an identity. It's hard to mistake it for anything else. The TLX looks like every cookie cutter econobox out there. I was actually looking forward to the car whith great anticapation. I am so underwhelmed by the TLX, I actually traded my 2012 SH AWD for a 2014 last month.
