The pic isn't photoshopped - that building really did that with the windows. And for Sunday's hysteria, they are shutting down a section of I-5 because the Seahawks are going to the airport. This is a quote from the Washington State Dept of Transportation web site:
I-5 SeaTac: The northbound and southbound I-5 off- and on-ramps at South 188th Street/Orillia Road South will be closed from 8:30 to 10 a.m. for the Seahawks Fan Send-Off.

So, taking a break from Patsarecheats-discussion, here's an amusing read on how FUBAR Johnny Manziel has been this season...an inside look at his year with the Browns: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12...n-sources-said

That all said, I think it's within his control to turn it around. Before the season a lot of people were comparing Manziel to Russell Wilson but that was largely based on physical stature and raw athletic ability. However the huge difference is Wilson is extremely humble, he has one of the best work ethics on the team, he doesn't complain when he's not in the spotlight, values team success over individual success, and most of all - the players WANT to play for him.
Manziel could be that guy, but he'd have to overall who his is off the field and in the locker room. Going to take a lot of actions, not words. He seems to have a lot of work in front of him to earn the respect of his team mates. It will be interesting to see how he responds now that he's been given a dose of reality.

That was the best press conference I've ever witnessed

I bet less than 12% of Seattle even know who the first 12th man was or why he was named that. I'll even give them a picture (of his statue).

Not surprised. Whatever your opinion of Belichick, he is all football and no nonsense or distraction. This may piss off some but he is consistent about the press and his approach to the game. I still don't believe he had anything to do with or knew anything about deflated balls.......

Johnny has always had a free pass in life. His family is heir to oil fortunes. He has never had to work for a living. Some rich kids are keen enough to understand what it takes to be successful themselves, some have to learn the hard way, and some never will or care. With that said, Johnny isn't a successful NFL quarterback, but he is a successful celebrity how ever short lived it may end up. I want to see him be a success in the NFL, but he may not really care either way.
Has a third year quarterback ever been successful as a rookie in the NFL? I said in the NFL thread last year I really hope he won't see an NFL down until 2016. Too many good players are chewed up and spit out in the NFL, but too many good players' careers are ended their junior or senior year of college to take the risk of staying. I think anyone who really watched Johnny knew he wasn't ready for the NFL. He was too unknowledgeable and immature. He will be 22 this year if I'm not mistaken. If he doesn't create a reputation he can't over come, he has the talent to be the next Brett Favre, but he needs to mature a lot quickly.
The saddest part to me about Johnny's story is his celebrity. It won't surprise me in the least if it destroys his football career, and it would be frustrating to see that be his undoing. Jameis Winston doesn't have anywhere near the celebrity Johnny does even though his story is nearly identical plus a National Championship and two ACC's. I really wish I never had the chance to read another off the field article about Johnny and only could see his on the field contributions because it can sure be fun to watch.

I like Peter King's columns and think he generally knows what he's talking about...his thoughts on the Pats' cheating ways:
Rest of article here: Deflategate dominates Patriots coverage in advance of Super Bowl XLIX | The MMQB with Peter King
For the people who think this is not a big deal, well, the fact is, breaking of rules led to an advantage of one team over the other. While sure, many could scoff that "sportsmanship" is overrated, the fact that the Pats were willing to cross that line in order to win...? Kinda despicable. I think it says something.
This is significant, because it takes weather-as-a-factor out of the possible reasons why New England’s footballs could have lost air while the balls on Indianapolis’ sidelines would have stayed fully inflated. I am told reliably that:
- The 12 footballs used in the first half for New England, and the 12 footballs used by the Colts, all left the officials’ locker room before the game at the prescribed pressure level of between 12.5 pounds per square inch and 13.5 psi.
- All 24 footballs were checked by pressure gauge at halftime. I am told either 11 or 12 of New England’s footballs (ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported it was 11, and I hear it could have been all 12) had at least two pounds less pressure in them. All 12 Indianapolis footballs were at the prescribed level.
-All 24 footballs were checked by pressure gauge after the game. All 24 checked at the correct pressure—which is one of the last pieces of the puzzle the league needed to determine with certainty that something fishy happened with the Patriots footballs, because the Colts’ balls stayed correctly inflated for the nearly four hours. There had been reports quoting atmospheric experts that cold weather could deflate footballs. But if the Patriots’ balls were all low, and the Colts’ balls all legit, that quashes that theory.
The conclusion: There is little doubt the New England footballs were tampered with by a human.

The better the team, the bigger the spotlight. And frankly, we're talking about the playoffs...so, yeah...big deal. And of course, this is the Pats...who were famous for "accidentally" filming their opponents. So, yup...turn up the intensity of the scrutiny. They should know better having been caught before.
Talk about stupid. Yeah, stupid as in the Pats.

Does this discredit the type of player Brady is or the Patriots team under Belicheat? Nope. They both are at the top end of the percentile. Still, unnecessary and again, stupid.

The reason why the Colts balls weren't under inflated is because their offense wasn't on the field long enough to cause a psi drop. They were tucked in the ball bag 90% of the game

What team has had the most PED suspensions since 2010? How come they aren't considered perpetual cheaters? FTR it's the Super Bowl team no one is talking about.... Because they haven't had the success the pats have.

PITTSBURGH -- Bill Cowher has a message for Pittsburgh Steelers fans who think their team was cheated out of a trip to the Super Bowl 10 years ago: Get over it.
The Steelers were drummed by New England, 41-27, in the 2004 AFC Championship Game at Heinz field, a loss that came under suspicion a couple of years later when the Patriots were caught trying to steal signals and formations by illegally videotaping opposing teams.
“We didn’t lose the game because of any 'Spygate,' because of them having any additional things,” Cowher told 93.7 The Fan on Wednesday. “[If] they’re guilty of anything they’re guilty of arrogance because they were told not to do something but it was something everybody does. They got caught doing it with a camera.”
Cowher, who coached the Steelers from 1992-2006, said what the Patriots did happened regularly in the NFL before the league allowed coordinators to relay plays to their quarterback and defensive signal-caller via a helmet radio.
“Stealing someone’s signals was a part of the game and everybody attempted to do that. We had people that always tried to steal signals,” said Cowher, whose 2004 team won 16 consecutive games before losing to the Patriots in the AFC title game. “What happened when we lost that game is they outplayed us. It had nothing to do with stealing signals or cheating or anything else.”
Cowher, an NFL studio analyst for CBS, interviewed Patriots coach Bill Belichick last week, and he said the two talked extensively afterward, the first time they had done so since they were both NFL assistant coaches.
Cowher professed his admiration for Belichick and the sustained success he has enjoyed in the salary-cap era.
The Pittsburgh native also made it clear on Wednesday that he won’t be matching wits against Belichick -- or any other NFL head coach -- anytime soon.
Cowher reiterated that he has “no interest” in returning to the sideline even though his name has been linked to head-coaching vacancies every year since he retired from the Steelers in January 2007.
Cowher, who went 149-90-1 and won a Super Bowl in 15 seasons with the Steelers, acknowledged that he has received his share of inquiries about returning to coaching.
“It’s flattering but it never gets very far,” Cowher said. “If I ever want to get back into coaching I should be calling teams they shouldn’t be calling me. That’s when you know you really want to do it.”

Seems like touching balls are the big story this week.
Here is the pic:
NFL Disapproves of Marshawn Lynch Grabbing Crotch, Sells Photos of Crotch Grab | Bleacher Report
Could the NFL screw this week up any more? I've read this was a mistake, and the NFL is pulling the picture. But really - is anyone awake in the front office?
NFL Disapproves of Marshawn Lynch Grabbing Crotch, Sells Photos of Crotch Grab
The National Football League doesn't approve of Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch grabbing his crotch during games, but the league has no problem trying to make money off the crotch grab.
Lynch has grabbed his crotch while scoring a touchdown on multiple occasions in the past. After he grabbed his crotch during last week's NFC Championship Game, the NFL fined him $20,000 for making an obscene gesture, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. The NFL has even warned Lynch and the Seahawks that a crotch grab during Super Bowl XLIX will result in a 15-yard penalty, according to ESPN's Sal Paolantonio (via Pro Football Talk's Michael David Smith).
It appears as though the NFL does not condone Lynch's celebratory act. Well, except for the fact that a collage that includes a photo of the "obscene gesture" is being sold at the league's official online store.

At least it's not cheating.

NFL fucks up again. Doesn't call Brady for their "investigation" still. Doesn't work fast enough to get this distraction out of the way (unless of course they're milking it for controversy a la TMZ). Gotta love Richard Sherman's quote about the Pats not getting in trouble since Rog and Kraft are BFF's. If the owners don't fire Rog, then at least get rid of some the higher ups. This league has gone to shit.

Hey lets by a little honest here. The seahawks have been cheating a lot more than the patriots lately.
Since Carroll became coach in 2010 PED offenders under Carroll (this are just a few, there are more): Lendale White (2010), Vai Taua (2011), John Moffitt (2011), Brandon Browner (2012), Winston Guy (2012), Allen Barbre (2012), Bruce Irvin (2013), Walter Thurmond (2013), Brandon Browner (2013)

I'm not making any excuses. If it comes out the pats deflated the balls I'll be the first person to say they cheated. I'm just getting annoyed with everyone jumping to conclusions.
The only two times they've been called cheaters (spygate, deflategate) are both known activities that every team in the league does. If you want to call it cheating go ahead, but it doesn't taint shit on either Bill or Bradys legacy

I followed the NFL pretty thoroughly during Paul T's tenure. It just seems nowadays more players are defying Rog. Sure social media gives them a mike but it's not like they didn't have cameras, mics, recorders etc back then.

To be fair, I'm getting tired of this story line. I don't need them to be guilty to make the Seahawks better or to make a stronger case for the Superbowl. I doubt there are any teams that are blameless when it comes to infractions - just a function of who's been caught and who has yet to be caught. Inflategate is all anyone has talked about all week. It's a shame because there are some legitimately good story lines to talk about this this game. This whole ball incident has nothing to do with the game on Sunday. It's not going to be ruled on before then anyway, so maybe we might actually move on to other topics this week.
