It's arguable that the Bolts felt so sorry for the Oilers, that they just laid down and let them win their first game.

I mean, it took a penalty shot and a last minute give-away for the Oil to win...

You're not supposed to hate the leafs, that's for the leafs fans. The rest of us are supposed to love the leafs. No matter how bad your team is doing you can always say, "at least we're not the leafs." Except for Edmonton fans of course.

I gotta say back in 2011 when Nathan Horton decided he wanted money more than to be part of a competitive team I was bummed out. Now that he's played about 35 games in the next 2 seasons an it looks like his career is over, I'm glad he took their money.

The B's beat a good team... well... a good regular season team. Plus Tuukka won the battle of Finlandia.

On the brighter side (or maybe not so bright depending on your outlook) I just scored a pair of tickets to next weeks game against Buffalo. First Leaf game in years.

How many jerseys should I bring to throw on he ice?

The Pens had the crowd sing Oh Canada yesterday to show support after the shooting in Ottawa yesterday. I thought that was a nice gesture.

Meh, I was hoping they'd sing loud enough to have the official singer let them take over. B's crowd wasn't loud enough tonight either

When I saw the headline of "Pens crowd sings O Canada" I was expecting what happened at the garden after the marathon bombing. Still a nice gesture even if the fans aren't hit by it as much as most of the players.

I sang as loud as I could

I agree it would have been nice if Jeff let the crowd take over, he did that for the SSB

Like I said, I don't think the fans had the emotional attachment to own it, the thought was there but it was still far from home for the fans. It was a little different in Boston after the bombings, I'd be willing to bet the next senators home game is one of those moments though.

It certainly was weird. Tavares got stop up by him and crumbled to the ice. Chara stood there apparently unfazed but left quietly left the ice and never returned.

Boston isn't really a contending team right now. Gambling on iginla with performance bonuses (against this years cap) and not being able to use a compliance buyout on Chris Kelly (because he was injured) have seriously hurt them this year. Being forced to trade boychuck for cap space to replace iginla hurt them again.

I honesty wouldn't be surprised if they missed the playoffs. It almost feels like a pseudo-rebuild year.

Not discrediting it, just based on the headline I read, I was hoping for more. On top of that I said the Boston fans didn't do any better. Anytime a US city (other than Buffalo) plays the Canadian national anthem before 2 US teams play it's significant.

Yes it was a nice touch. And great to see people singing the anthem. We're in this mess together.
