Happy bday!!

Im on sport bikes now so I can enjoy them while my body will let me. Maybe a standard bike (SV650 and the like) would be good for you as its not quite a sport bike and not quite a cruiser. But honestly, get what you feel most comfortable on.

And Stogie - that is immaculate.

He is asking too much, though, esp with 37K miles. True value is only around $2500 TOPS. In perfect shape. Showroom for $3k-3.5k.

i was taking a gander at the honda shadow phantom 750. looked up acceleration specs and its a slow goer. kinda bugs me. comparitivey the hd sportster IRON 1200 actually has some balls. but is it worth $3500 more? i dunno

im just looking around right now. going to call my insurance agent to get figures.

Yeah, I was going to do that before I got a killer deal on Vortex rearsets...the CF guards would look great with black rearsets.

If you want to get your rearsets powder coated I can hook you up with someone in Leesburg that will do it for cheap.

OK, no laughing at me...

I just did my FIRST oil change and filter!

Took out 3 quarts, put in new filter, put in 3 quarts.

Wasn't tough, and will be even easier next time.

Pretty sure you are talking about a turny clicky thingy

Congrats! I remember the first oil change on my bike felt so rewarding and was impressed I didn't have extra pieces afterwards

Thanks! I actually noticed a piece the PO left off, so I will need to source one and get it. I made a bit of a mess, but next time I will know better!

Pic whore mode, ENGAGE!!!

Ive gotten most of the stuff done to the Daytona that I wanted to. The Techspec grips are on, the double bubble is mounted, I installed the new hugger (which I need to get some spacers so I can mount the plate again), the HID kit is in and so is the delay timer (video below), Proton front turn signals, I painted the heatshield on the exhaust black, installed a clear LED tail light (not an integrated light, just running/brake), buffed it, sealed it, and finally sourced the passenger seat cowl.

All of the dealers here wanted $250 for the seat cowl, which I wasnt ready to spend. I couldnt find any used in the correct color either. I did find a dealer in England though, http://www.jacklilley.com/ , which sold it to me for $160USD shipped. I was amazed at the price difference.

Anyways, pics. Dont mind the chicken strips, I havent been able to ride

Heres the HID Delay timer in action. Its programmed to delay power to the headlight for 18 seconds so I can start the bike and not kill the bulb/ballast with the on-off-on sequence.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tNg5fHS1ss

And here are my Protons. I set them to strobe. It really gets your attention. Once I get the exhaust taken care of I may pick up another set of them and put them back there.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIKmQfXZatA

Ride safe everyone.

Daytona looks great, those Techspec grips are money.

Post some pics once the exhaust is done and I might have to hit you up about the powdercoating.

The AS Harlem Air boots just arrived from UPS...

I have to admit I am a bit underwhelmed by the "ankle protection", which is kind of the only reason I bought these things... I can barely feel a little thicker padding there. Otherwise, they seem OK. We will see how they feel with regular socks on.

Double density injected ankle protection molded into the inner structure of the boot.

If anyone on here has a Scorpio alarm and wants a proximity sensor, let me know.

I just picked up an SR-i900 used and it came with one, but I had already bought one because I didnt know it had one. I paid $25 shipped. Its brand new. Retails for twice that.

Boot arrived. Too big. Nice sizing chart.... :thumbsdow

I am totally being c*ckblocked in trying to return these things to Motorcycle Superstore.

1. No one answers the phone. 15-20 minutes waiting for a rep, no one comes on.

2.Emails go completely unanswered.

3. Live Chat confirmed that I had ordered the boots and once I indicated I needed to exchange, they disconnected.

CG all the way even if I have to pay the 9% sales tax... At least I can go to the damn store and give them back if they are wrong.

I HATE poor customer service.... This is enough to make me never buy from them again...

Ouch. That sucks. Where are they located?

EDIT - Looks like Medford, Oregon. Others have had issues as well:

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=motorc...en&sa=N&tab=fl

But their BBB rating is good.

http://www.bbb.org/oregon/business-r...rd-or-55002839

Try this number if the 877 number isnt getting you anywhere:

(541) 618-7381

Thats supposedly the Customer Service Manager, Lisa Herrin. Her email is lisa.herrin@motorcycle-superstore.com

Thanks!

I finally spoke to someone and they said to use their website to print a return label. Except the website return feature will not be working until next week. Sigh...

I ordered a new pair from Cycle Gear so I can try them on when they come in. I have to pay 9% tax, but at this point they said they would have them in the store in 3 days (from the day I ordered) and I can simply walk away if they don't fit/are uncomfortable. No RMA, no hassle.

CG get;s my business now... Wasn't someone going to give us all a discount there???

Been riding every weekend for the past month. Here's the group right by Reagan National Airport. You can catch planes taking off at this point. If you look hard enough you'll find a chick in the pic (sorry, shitty cell phone pic).

Buddy's KLX is in for maintenance, so he rode his Ruckus on GW parkway. My riding group is going to include more CBRs looks like I'm getting out numbered. The group consists of 4 CBRs, my GSXR, and a R6 (not all pictured).

That would be me.

Unfortunately, no discount for out of towners. I can do it a few times a year locally (whenever they have their big sales/promos I get special friends and family discount cards to give out which offer additional savings on top of the sales). As it is I have to wait a little while longer before I can get a discount for myself!

But working there I have to say that it's definitely the place to shop. 100% Satisfaction Guarantee (no hassles) and 30-Day Price Match Guarantee (local, in stock vendors) is a no-brainer. I had to do an exchange for someone the other day who bought a pair of gloves that were tearing at the seams. He bought them 4 months ago and we gave him full credit for a new pair. Can't get that kind of service online!!

So anyone local in/around Charlotte... come see me . Next big sale is a week or two before Halloween...
