I wanted one of those so badly when I first got my endorsement. That'll be one that is definitely on the add list.
Do want. Really, really bad. If it makes production (and those who know claim it will, but most likely not for NA), it will join the stable.

I think I want to get my niece this for Christmas, I just wish it was pedal powered.

American Honda Announces Release of the Much-Anticipated CB1000R
11/02/2010 - Torrance, CA
American Honda Motor Company's Powersports division announced to its dealers today the release of the CB1000R, a high-performance and versatile "naked bike."
"Last week we introduced the all-new entry-level CBR250R and we're just as excited about this addition to Honda's lineup for 2011," said Powersports Press Manager Bill Savino. "The CB1000R fills a great position in today's market as we now bring a very capable sport machine packed with high-performance features to riders who focus on street use—wherever and whatever their destination may be. Whether it's a quick trip down a favorite backroad, a weeklong ride through a few states, or anything in between, the CB1000R is versatile enough to do it all."

Local dealership out here had a Ducati factory demo truck so they asked their MV rep to show up too with a couple of bikes. I grabbed rides on the F4 and Ducati Streetfigher.
F4 was fantastic, Streetfighter was good, but not great.
Gotta look for more opportunities to ride under other people's coverage because it really is the best way to find out how all these different bikes feel.

Took a 2 hour ride today to Payson, AZ up a little higher in elevation and then 2 hours back. I am glad I had the liner for my jacket because it got pretty chilly on the way up. OK, I am a wuss for cold, but I did see another rider putting on a sweatshirt, so I know it wasn't just me.
Anachostic, you were right. Riding in fishnet stockings a bustier is not a good idea for long distance.
Upon arriving in Payson, though, I did something terribly embarrassing. In a parking lot with people around, I gently set the bike down on it's side (at a stop) while spewing all manner of curses. I ALMOST saved it, but no. So... Now I have a very slightly scratched clutch cover and a giant bruise on my thigh. My ego is probably the most wounded of all. One guy noticed I was a little trapped under the bike (left leg) and came over to help, but I already had the bike up by then.
Better this bike in this current condition than a nice new expensive one, right?

yeah, I will have a nasty bruise on my left thigh, but I am OK. Put side kickstand down, released front brake, released clutch, then reached for kill switch as the bike lurched forward (was in gear) and retracted the kickstand.

Saw this the other night on the highway heading home. Stogie, did you fail to mention to us that you recently aquired a pet parrot???

little custom flat black sanded through to primer, cleaned and polished the tach, polish bracket, ss brake line and front brake sensor banjo bolt (still need to run wires to brake light)

refurb'd tach with some elbow grease

new exhaust finally installed with new crush gaskets, new pegs and kickstarter rubber

ss brake line (no more 40 year old rubber lines)

^ Wow! Awesome. Your pipes must sound awesome!
I have a 78 K8 and plenty of desire but no real know how on how to fix it. It pretty much doesn't need fixing, but I am having some issues with the drum brake. I am on SOHC4.net and also have the Clymer and shop manual for it.
Also, PO put pods on but gave me the airbox. I would like to get it back on but have NO idea what I am doing inside a carb as far as setting the needles.
Mostly, I am just afraid to start, since I have never worked on bikes (OK, anything...).

next year my plan is tear down the engine and start from the frame up. last week i cut the old harness out and completely rewired it with just the shop manual wiring diagrams. amazingly it started right up without issues and i learned a whole lot.

Do tell...about how you got to ride an F4!!!
