OEM 20's or aftermarket 20's?

Thoughts? I'm ready to put some 2-0's on the ZDX and I'm a little torn.

Being Acura, they are extremely proud of the 20's (Unless anyone knows where to get a killer deal on them?)

Or go aftermarket and save $$ or get a realllly nice set of rims/wheels....?

This is a hard decision due to how good the 20" OEM option wheels look on the ZDX. They fit the car perfect I think! Also keep in mind if you do something aftermarket with a lip is will look smaller. I have found out that the ZDX is a pretty high offset vehicle so that will also limit a bit of options for you. After test fitting a 20x9 +29 I can say it was outside the fenders about 2mm. So basically a 20x9 +32-+45 offset will be ideal when your looking. Width wise I would stay between a 9-9.5 for a factory feel. But I can’t talk much since I ordered my Vossens in 22x10.5 all around(aggressive I know, just testing the envelope) Let me know if you need help with fitment, I have lots of options here at work that I can always test fit if you need a better idea.

I was hoping you'd reply on this one. I too like the looks of the OEM 20's, but goodness, $450 per rim? That's on par with the OZ racing rims and the like.

Granted that includes the TPMS sensors, but it's still a little steep. I am waiting on a quote for a wheel package for the OEM 20's + TPMS, Yokohama tires and a set of locks.

Will let you guys know what I find out.

Here's one that's very similar to the OEM's.

Any thoughts?

for comparison:

Personally I like the look of the OEM's - but I'm not a fan of the weight... if you can find a nice 20x9 forged go for it. But, be prepared to pay a bit more.

The TSW's I have posted above are a "Rotary Forged" rim, but I know nothing of their quality?

They also have a "Donnignton" which is very similar, but the widest width is 8.5"

I really like the first TSW wheel you posted! But I still think the stock wheel would pop on your silver more as far as the finish goes. TSW makes a great wheel and have lots of great products for most OE fitments. I think the best thing about the aftermarket wheel is you have less chance to pull up next to a ZDX with the same wheel compared to the OE. But how many times have you even seen a ZDX on the road haha.

We are installing these on a BMW today and thought I would get you some pics and specs on the wheel since you are interested in this design. As far as the wheel itself goes its amazing looking in person and the quality is there too. I konw you are looking at a different color but this is all I have to show you.

Wheel Specs
TSW Nurburgring
19x9.5
Offset: 41
Finish Gunmetal
Weight: 22 Pounds

Those 19's look nice, but so many manufacturers use that same spoke design. Our 350Z has the same sytle of rim on it and the more I think about it, the less I want it to look like all the other rims/wheels out there.

The OEM 20's have a similar design, but much more square in the spokes. That's probably why I like them, the car is so curvy that the square shape of the rims are needed to balance the overall shape(s) present.

I'm down to the Donington's or OEM's.

I do appreciate you posting the pics of the Nurb's. Thanx, broski.

I've done a little more research on the Donington wheels and I've found a few pics of them mounted on various cars and here's a pic of them on an FX.

Any thoughts?

They are available in 20 X 8.5" so I should be able to go with the OEM recommended size of 270/40/20.

Make that a 265/45/20 tire which is within OEM specs.

I dont think the wheel looks bad, but I still love the look of the OEM compared to this wheel. Just sucks the OEM wheels are so damn pricey. The 265/45/20 will work perfect too! Good luck

Thanks for the chop there. I do like the looks of the Donington's, but I just sent the email to order the OEM 20's.

OEM's...

Does the accessory 20" Acura wheels have a chrome finish on them? It doesn't say so in the description, as opposed to the 19" accessory wheels which state "brilliant chrome-look finish".

The stock 19's are an allow silver metal, they're definitely not a chrome finish, IMO.

The OEM 20's are a "chrome look" finish, but not a shiny dipped chrome. There are a couple of pics posted of Z's with the 20's here in this forum

Found this pic in another thread. I'd go 20" RonJons or another design - if you like the OEM look, I'd go OEM via eBay. It's hard to beat the 20" OEMs. And but that FX looks like ass.

Thanks guys, the general consensus both online and RL is that the wheels look good.

I went with the Yokohama Parada Spec-X tires. The sidewalls and tread pattern give the overall car an urban assault look. You can't really tell from the pic I posted due to the lighting, but when I have a chance next week I"ll get better pics.

Here's a look at what I mean, obviously not my wheels.

Maybe BC suspension would take it on...they're making coilovers for our RDX's... check out the threads over there.

Stock 20" wheels over here, not bad, have them in all black to match black exterior.
