Help with wiring LED Spoiler

Hello,
My nephew has asked me to help him with some mods to his 2010 ZDX. He wants to add an OPT7 LED Spoiler to the back. The goal is to have it light whenever he hits the brake. My question is where is the best place to wire this, do i just tap into the tail light or the high center brake light? I'll have to drill a hole in the body to accommodate the wire i'm assuming? The instructions are a little vague, i've attached the pertinent page here. The LED strip came with 2 "skotchlocks." Just don't want to mess anything up, or compromise the safety of the car in any way. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. While I've helped him in the past, added a light kit to the interior and wired to the fuse box, not sure what to do here. THANK YOU!
