Has someone else received the "Display Screen Software Recall"

If so, will that also require that they install "TSB 25-033 - A11 Radio Control Module Software Updates #1". And how about "TSB 25-034 - K73 Telematics Control Module Software Updates #1"?

 

mulunu, I saw on the Acura APP (surprised that a banner announcing the recall pops up even though the app doesn't work), and verified my status via VIN search on the Acura site found in your post. I spoke with the service manager at my dealer last week and plan to drop the car off on Tuesday. He suggested it's about a 6 hour porcess, so based on my schedule I'll probably pick it up on Wednesday - I hope!

@swannyva Indeed, I was also surprised to see the message despite the app not working (wrong battery status, no connection to the car). Let me know how it goes. Also, do you already have TSB 25-033 and TSB 25-034 and latest Android? If not, l am interested to know if they are willing to apply those upgrades along with the recall. I have been unsuccessful getting those updates as the dealership was not able to reproduce the sporadic(!) issues.

 

I believe that is the safety recall I got done middle of last month.

When it was all done I'm not sure what was accomplished. There were some improvements as I recall, but I was left with Android 12, which I believe should have been updated. We'll see what happens this week.

I took my ZDX into the dealer on 4/14 about 3:30pm and had it back by 9pm! The paperwork indicates that they inspected the software, performed 2 updates under 26-007(the recall notice), and performed a vehicle wide programming "SPS3" under 26-007. A chat with the one of the tech's who is qualified on the ZDX suggested that there are more updates in the works, but we can only hope to see OTA service, and that the OTA on these cars not only involves GM/OnStar, but also SiriusXM!
In any event, the vehicle is in great shape, with the only noticeable change in operations is the regenerative braking is bit more aggressive in the normal mode. Lane changes within "Super Cruise" operation seems to be unchanged, but the display on the right side of the Instrument Cluster has been tweaked. Overall, the displays are greatly improved! The HUD received a much-appreciated larger speed indication, as well as lane keep indicators (2 vertical lines) that are green if you're in the lane but go red if you wander. The instrument cluster display has several new screens available that provide improved information and options. The updates included Android 14 with the ability to download Amazon Prime videos which might come in handy sometime during a rare road trip DC charging session.
If I notice anything significant, I'll provide an update.

Seriously, now you need GM/OnStar and also SiruisXM to update the car. That's ridiculous. I will pay it to get frequent updates but that makes no sense. So does this recall require an update to Android 14? Not sure I care that much. I am more interested in TSB 25-033 and TSB 25-034 but if they upgrade it, great! Just wonder if they automatically do that because it is required or you need to ask for it. As for movies, I am not watching any in the car. In the few instances where we need to charge outside of the home, we just go to a mall, got and get something to eat, walk the dog, etc.

 

As SiriusXM and OnStar are "built in" to the vehicle, I assume no subscription will be necessary during the 4-year factory warranty period, even if you don't have an active SiriusXM account. I don't know what's required during updates, but my experience is it's best to keep software up to date.
