Of course send me your e-mail address and it's yours! Here is a sample of the guide booklet . . . Only the formatting is missing here it will be in the DOC file you get! These are all 7x8" page files booklet form.

I've started using "Radio Select [XM1, FM1, etc.]" more and more frequently in rush hour in lieu of hitting the "Mode" button on the steering wheel, because when I use the Mode button I always glance over to confirm which band it's on, and that's not always a great idea in DC-area traffic.

If I'm in motion and need to do something I usually use the voice command. But if I'm stopped at a red light, I usually just reach over and press the buttons.

I will however use th "DC play disc x track y" often because there isn't any other easier way to go directly to a certain disc and track all at once.

And lke everyone else, I use voice commands only when doing a demo. But I often have to repeat the command because the passenger starts talking before the end of command.

- "No way, you can talk to the car?"
- "Yeah but it won't work because you talked during my command input. Now keep quiet and see what happens. Don't talk until you hear the lady voice repeat my command."

At night, the handiest command I use is "setup display off" to just turn off the display if I don't need it. Much faster than using the on-screen menus.

That's why it's better to tell the passenger to issue the command. Just tell them what to say and to wait for the beep. That's even more impressive.

Other than that, my most used Navi command is CANCEL after it misunderstands what I just told it to do.

i use it for almost everything....except i think that the climate control option was kinda stupid.....i think they should have added more types of commands like a WINDOWS DOWN command.....or like a seat heating function or a trunk open function something more fun and qwerky..

This is exactly the list I use for exactly the same reasons. I'll add that I find myself changing channels on XM so often, I may as well be having a conversation with the female confirmation voice.

Thanks for the tip on the next command. I have been looking for a way to give a voice command to page down a list of destinations or to see all the pages of the direction list.
Next works great.

I'd like it if the voice commands worked with the MID. "Display Miles to Empty" or "Reset Trip Meter."

I really wish we could voice command the letters and numbers when inputting an address.

Yes, I was really surprised when I found it didn't work that way. The HFL understands numbers just fine, but spelling out destinations in the Navi would make a lot of sense, too.

Is there a way to turnoff the route navigation (turn here etc), but keep on the voice feedback when you say commands? I like the command feedback because it is easy to hear if you get misinterpreted etc, but I would like silent routing. I can only find the opposite case where you can turn off the voice command feedback (screen 3 of setup), but keep on the routing voice. If I turn off voice (screen 2 slider of setup), then all voice feedback is off.

Just dropped by from the CL group and will resurrect this thread. I found an egg at www.eeggs.com. Check it out:
Press the voice command button on the steering wheel.
The voice will say "Please say a command" and you will hear a beep.
Make a farting noise, you can use your lips, your hands, whatever body part produces the best, loudest fart noise, for best results aim for the microphone in the top center panel, and have silence before and after the noise.
The voice will then say "Air Conditioner" and it will turn on or off, depending on it's current setting.

This is definitely an egg because there's no way a fart sound could sound like the words "air conditioner". This is a great way to have a laugh in the car when you have other passengers with you. Can anybody verify this works?

Easter Eggs? Try "silence wife." It causes the volume to go up about 20 Db, and must activate the A/C since the car gets real icy real fast.

Of course, if this actually was available, then it should stop the car, park, and recline the seat because that's where we'll be sleeping for the night.. haha

Hey, I see Volume Up, Volume Down and other Volume commands are available in this thread. Were those added with the recently released (late 2005) NAVI DVD v3.50?

Never mind. The Volume Up/Down only appear to work on the setup screen. I was thinking it finally worked on the Radio/XM/DVD-Audio/CD volume controls. Those are still manual.

Thinking of buying an 06 TL with NAVI. A question. I have a Garmin Street Pilot 2610. One thing I search for on my frequent trips along interstates are rest stops and the Garmin lists the upcoming rest stops as well as other services. It doesn't appear that the TL Navi has a voice command to find rest stops. Is there a screen command to find them?

well, this really isnt a command, but a sure fire way for your nav to understand you. When giving numbered commands for say radio or xm channels or tempture, I use for example XM channel 5-5 or 1-2-5 instead of saying xm channel fifty five. Works much better and never goes to some random channel that sounds similar to another one. BEN
ps- my friend always finds it funny to give their own command. When riding with me I have one friend that always begs me to press the voice command button then he will say " blowjob now please, or can we screw? etc, my female cars voice will do some random stuff when he says that. Like tell you what time it is or display chinese restaraunts. lol

That's pretty poor. I wonder if the updated Honda Accord NAVI can locate rest stops? Guess I could save a bundle and get the TL without the NAVI and use my Garmin.

That's funny you mentioned this!! I asked my navi a question one time and it also said "Air Conditioner". I looked at my passenger and we both started laughing. I can't remember what I asked it but it had nothing to do with my AC. I think another time I asked it a question and it said "post office?"

Oh well, nothing is perfect but the TL comes close.

I tried "find nearest brothel" a few weeks back. It interpreted that as "hotel" and gave directions to the nearest Super 8.

Is there a Volume Up/Volume Down when listening to the stereo system? Rather than just on the setup screen.
