Acura Incentive Predictions?

Anyone have predictions as to incentives from Acura to keep the ZDX after the lease expires? Only a few months before the first of the 2 year leases expire. In early 2027, when the dealers receive a flood of used ZDX's, I'm fairly certain the buyout prices will be reduced dramatically by Acura.

With low mileage(3-5k miles), used ZDX listings already at 50% of the suggested MSRP, or lower, on the market, who in their right mind would keep a ZDX with 20-30k miles for the $30k buyout price?

I feel Honda/Acura will just eat the depreciation loss to try moving everyone to the in-house EVs. Whether that makes sense does not matter, the management obviously live in a different world. Just look at Prelude, no matter how well it drives, the asking price is insane for an underpowered Prius coupe. Yet Honda people are confident about Prilude, and proud of the effort.

We/I made the mistake of putting $5k down when we purchased the ZDS. We did so to get the points on the CC (which of course we paid off right away). $5k is all they let us put down on the CC. Our plan was always to pay the car off after a couple of months as we never leased a car and only did so this time to get the $7.5k tax rebate. However, then we reconsidered and are just paying the monthly lease. I am not sure if we want to keep the car after the lease as support has been bad and probably will just get worse. But if we don't keep it, I believe we will basically have lost the voluntary $5k we paid down. Selling it private won't give us a good return as nobody wants to buy a car that was only produced for 1 year. So it's kind of a dilemma.
As for a reduction in the buyout, I don't see Acura doing that. Yes, they are going to sit on a car that will be hard to sell but from their point of view, a contract is a contract. They might help some if you buy another Acura...

Yeah, that is why people say never put down payment on a lease. I have to admit, I put a token amount on mine to smooth out the negotiation.

The way I look at this dilemma is, either way, we are losing money. If I have to lose money, what does the money bring me? I know I am likely in the minority, but my ZDX has served me well, especially after the recent Android 14 update and powertrain software update. I feel the car as-is with these updates is good enough to hold on for a few more years, even if let's say GM stop supporting the car today.

But I am still going to let the lease run through, and see what happens.

The only real issue we had with the car is that it would break for no good reason when backing up. We had to bring it in a while ago and it seems that issue has disappeared since then. We have a slight rattle from one of the loudspeakers when listening to loud music with a lot of bass. But otherwise, the car has served us well. Actually, my wife really loves it incl. the tiger gold color. I was going to put a clear bra on the front but my wife said we might just get another one when the lease is up. She doesn't realize how little we probably will get and the hindrance of that voluntary $5k we put down (so dumb of me...). So I wonder if we should just run it to the ground as we did with our other cars. Or maybe give it to our child when out of college and we buy a new one...

We still have that free tire rotation so I want to see what software upgrades they should do at the same time. Not sure how to check what the currently installed version of the installed modules are and how to figure out which upgrades I should insist on. I need to go through the forum again.

What’s the recent Android 14 and Powertrain SW update? I had the 2nd Vehicle Wide Programming done in Oct 2025.

There’s a reference to SW update 24-035, but I don’t see any information on that listed here (or on google search).

They are from GM's continuous software improvements. Unfortunately, you won't find the latest changelogs from Acura. They are scattered across GM OTA changelogs and owner observations.

Rest assured that if you go get VWP and telematics update, you will get the latest software on the GM server.

The infotainment, however, is still up in the air. Most people got Android 14 through replacement infotainment due to bricked units. Meanwhile, many others had the infotainment successfully updated, but only got a newer build of Android 12.

I feel I am the only one who got Android 14 through normal updating process...
