ABRP, from the PlayStore
ABRP, from the PlayStore
This might be something others already know, but I just found out last week.
I used to use A Better Route Planner on my iPhone, and view it on the secondary screen via CarPlay. The problem is the app cannot know the current State of Charge of the battery. This means it cannot react en route if you are using charge slower, or faster, than anticipated. It cannot change charging stops on-the-fly.
However, if you go to the Home Screen you will see a Play Store icon. And if you have already signed into your Google account in the car you can buy certain apps for your car. Like ABRP. And, if you run ABRP on the car (rather than run it on your iPhone and mirror it to the car), then it does know your SoC and can react en route to using charge slower or faster than anticipated. Nice!
