So i need to replace the clutch in my 3g TL. any ideas on who i should speak to? im local in Edmonton.
I was thinking of just moving to a stage 2 clutch, as I hear it is cheaper than the OEM parts. any truth to this?
I was going to get mine done last year but decided to ride it out completely. From what I remember OEM is the best clutch out there and is made by a company called luke. From the info I gathered oem holds up a lot better than aftermarket one. I wouldn't go anything to fancy unless your tracking the car and street racing all the time. Msg me if you got any questions bro.

I think 07 and newer TL have a slimmer ballast. Someone correct me if I am wrong. If it will work we can meet up some time.

It just depends on the type of plug in your bulbs have, if you can post a pic of your bulbs I'll tell you if it works, I would post a pic of the ballast but it won't let me since I'm a new member, and I have no idea how to lol

^Does it have RPF1 wheels and a bunch of stickers on the rear glass? If so I met the owner at a Honda meet before. Really clean ride and crazy low.

Hey guys, so 2 days ago my check engine light came on, no biggie car was/is driving fine but it bothered me a lot so I brought it into West Side Acura to get it checked out. They diagnosed that my rear catalytic converter is below the threshold and they'll change it for me for only $1200...

Do you think I should just take it to a muffler/exhaust shop and have it checked out there? Cause I am not paying $1200 for that bullshit.

@Aaron - Is it the bank 2 sensor? If it is, that sensor itself is around $700 or something like that. I got mine replaced by my friend at West side so I got a little bit of a deal on it. Does the engine light stay on or is it intermittent?

That one? Christian's car... Every time he rolls through UC with it, I die a little inside haha. Hopefully next year my car will look something like that. I'll be looking for a A Spec front & STi V limited lip come spring if I can't find a C West front.

Yeah its the rear sensor. It was on for awhile but they turned it off. Yeah the part is fucking expensive and I am for sure not willing to pay the dealerships price if I know I can get it fixed elsewhere for cheaper...

Wait are they gonna change the sensor or catalytic converter?

I am pretty sure that you can get a used catalytic converter and install the thing yourself, as long as it's not plugged like yours is. Also, I drove without one on my 2G for 3 years. Yea check engine light was on but what ever.

I forget but don't they have a cat delete something or other on 3G, like Pre cats, j-pipe, exhaust. I'd look into cheapest option that will eliminate the check engine light, not paying 1200$ to dealership. Check with vendors on this site for some options as well.

@Myron - yeah I brought it to my other friend to replace the cat for almost half cheaper.

@Tai - I'd be down for a meet, if anybody else would be down. Its out last change for actual somewhat decent weather...

Hello everyone, so i just recently purchased a 2007 ASM Acura TL Type S 6 spd manual w/ only 85 000 km. Will post some pics up in a bit
Quick questions about headlight lighting, im not sure if any of you guys have cleared headlights with switchback front turn signals. Im not too sure but are these legal here in edmonton?

^Congrats on the purchase. I envy your 6 speed.

My headlights have the zkw-r lenses, 6K type 2 switchbacks, 6K morimoto 3five bulbs, and wrapped the amber reflector in CF vinyl. Since you're type-s, your diffusers are already clear minus that small amber portion which I wrapped in vinyl. I've never been pulled over for it. With my type 2's, they stay on white and blink amber. I think (don't quote me on this) that as long as your signal is amber, it's okay.

did you mount that lip on your car yet Vincent?

Also, tell me what do use to clean leather, beige seats are a pain in the ass!!!

ALSO, if anyone wants vinyl to wrap their roof, Gloss Black, I have enough for TL roof that was gonna go on my TL but never did. It's just been sitting in my room for 2 years now and it's too short for FX roof. We can negotiate a price through PM (way less than ordering online or buying locally)

no never done it, but I am gonna get some for my FX and have a buddy help me do it in spring. I was thinking before winter too, but nah, it's already chilly to do mods. And I don't know if it's gonna fit on your RDX, I doubt it. My roof is 6" longer than vinyl haha I think vinyl is 3'x5' but not sure, it would have fit on my TL for sure tho

@Myron. I see, where do you get your vinyl? I do have a friend that does it too. He told me to just supply him the vinyl. I want the gloss finish, I don't think the matte black will look good on pearl white. What other plans do you have for the FX?

@Jeff. Lol. I just creep around all the time. Haha. Did you get a supercharger for the TSX yet? I'm doing good here. Lots of partying and studying at the same time. The RDX is barely driven, still sitting on 8k right now.

I'm thinking of changing my low beam bulbs. I changed my fog light bulb to 4300k and now it looks like the fog light is bluer than my low beams. I'm thinking of getting the Morimoto 5000k. How long have you had your Morimoto bulbs?

@Myron - It's the tuning ability that get you the gains, on a fully bolted car/supercharged/turbo setup, these are essential kinda like the cobb accessports. Any sort of tune will improve your car lol but im sure you know that.

@Arthur - Don't get the morimotos lol, they don't last very long and the output kinda sucks. Did you just want a higher kelvin color bulb? Which bulb does your RDX take?

@Jeff. Lol. Here I thought the Morimotos are good since a lot of people buy them. I just want a little bit higher kelvin temp. My oem low beams are rated 4300k. I changed my fog light bulbs to 4300k to match them but the fog lights turned out to be a tad bluer. Hence, that's why I'm thinking of going 5000k for my low beams. My low beams are D2S.

haha yea I know that, and if there were supporting mods on the car (SC, turbo,...) then yea, you would have to get it. I am saying that getting something so expensive on a relatively stock car (which won't net you some serious gains) is not money well spent IMO. But I haven't read about that thing so I don't know what you can get out of the engine with it, but I am sure it can't be much

yea if he is willing to make some cash on the side, I would pay him to help me out, maybe we can do a group deal me and you haha I used to get vinyl from a vendor on this site ACK something but I don't know if he's still around. There are some good sites where we can get it from and the more we buy the cheaper right so we can split the cost if you want on shipping and everything and just get one huge piece that's enough for both of our cars. And I agree with you on the gloss vinyl, I don't like that matte one on pearl paint cars, just looks like it's not finished.

oh and plans for FX, not many. Depending on cash flow, I am still dealing with that stuff from before so we'll c. I might get some H&R springs and install them in spring and some spacers. That's about it. I was thinking wheels but I'd have to go with 20s or 22s and that stuff gets EXPENSIVE for quality wheels. And not many of those sizes on kijiji with proper bolt patterns, it's mostly all for trucks (6 bolt) and ugly as sin haha

How much do you charge? A beer? Two beers? Three beers?

@Myron. I see. Yea, depending on the budget I might get me some 19s. We'll see tho. I really like the Vossen CV5 but they don't offer it in 19s. That and a black roof will make me happy.

@Arthur - how much are you looking to spend on HIDs? lol I have the Osram Xenarc cool blue CBI 5000k and they are probably the best 5000k bulbs you can buy in the market, but they cost ~$200 shipped for both pairs..

we'll get him a 24 pack it's still gonna be cheaper than getting it done at a shop haha

those Vossens are nice, but I think they are overpriced for what they are. They are "in" right now, but they are getting played out fast I think. And why 19s? Is that what everyone is running on those? On FXs if you want lip, you have to go 22s to look good. If you want concave no lip then 20s or else wheels just look too huge and it's like you're driving a donk
