When Is The Best Time To Get A Detail?
Coming from a detailer:
Not when its full of swirls.........
On a serious note, twice annually would be nice, I'm not sure the time of year is that critical, depending on where you live. Usually folks back east prefer deep protection prior to Mother Nature setting in. Then once winter thaws, they bring her out for show again with a nice cleanup. But these are folks who mostly detail themselves. That may not be practical or economical for you.

being from the East coast, I have started my winter prep details now. I just put a fresh layer of FS UPP on the wifes Odyssey yesterday and will try for one more before it gets bad here. Then on to my car gott do the same. I usually try to get at least two layers of FS UPP on before the cold weather sets in. and this year I may try to top it with some Collinite that I got from Patrick.
I usually detail again in the Spring as soon as the weather gets decent again.

I haven't had the time to detail as regularly as I'd like due to school (my last semester
) but once I'm out, I'll probably do it once or twice a year. However, we have seven cars in the family fleet, LoL. So that could mean I'd be doing a full detail every month if I did one to two details on each vehicle in our fleet, haha.

For myself its full polish out in the spring and occasional layers throughout the summer so by fall just a layer of #845 is applied.
For customers up in this area I do a full detail in the spring .. then a "Winter Wax" in the fall. Usually #105 or #845. I'll be shutting it down in a week or so ... getting too cold .. has been close to freezing every morning this week with the highs in the 50's.

I've been putting it off since I need a full weekend to do the gf's CR-V and then another weekend to do the 4Runner, but shit times running out you're right Pat
Hey I've never washed a car before and I have no idea what is needed to prepare the car for winter. Can someone point me to a thread about winter preparation for our lovely tl's? I'm a total car cleaning novice, I've only used carwashes.
Any quick and easy tips that you can post will be much appreciated too. I have a 2004 TL DGP.

Fall and spring here, too. Time is quickly running out for me, I have to do my fall cleanup asap.

I need to do my Fall detail sooner than later
