Waxing, in the sun or not in the sun?

Ok, for the last 4 years of washing cars, Ive always known to wash and wax in the shade. I was told that letting the wax dry in the sun is not very effective, if it dries too fast, then the wax wont leave a good coat on the paint.
but after reading some stuff online. some people are saying drying the wax in the sun is actually just as good?
I've been using meguiars Gold class wax and have been getting good results. but have had few wax swirls.

1.so in the sun good?
2. in the sun no difference?
3. in the sun no good?

I've always heard that the sun is NOT the place to wash and wax. Don't even do it in the shade if the car is still warm. Maybe that is old school but I'd bet the darker colors will get way to hot in the sun and "soften" to the point where you would scratch them up.

In the shade won't hurt you and you'll be more comfortable too

i do it in the shade (garage usually-- no pollen, dust, etc.)

i do one coat synthetic and one coat carnauba. . .
they usually get hard after I let them cure--- taking it off in the sun is prob. a good idea b/c it will be easier to take off

putting it on in the sun.... ummmm why?

oh, i doubt the fact that u put it on in the sun caused the swrils--- lack of proper technique maybe?

the swrils are from not letting it dry enough.

Polymers can be applied in the sun, they actually require it.

Wax in the sun, not a great idea...shit will be nearly impossible to get off after it dries and you'll end up having to rub your paint off to get the stuff up.

For a professional detailer, I'm suprised you've never read the back of the label of some of these products.

For best results, allow at least four hours between coats to permit "curing." When finished, "baking" vehicle in the sun will bond Liquid Glass Polish/Finish to the surface.
Like all other polymer based polish and protection systems, Zaino Show Car Polish must cure before applying subsequent coats. The curing process allows the polymer chains to cross-link, building strength and durability.
"Depending on how heavy you applied it. I have applied Z-2 PRO in the Arizona sun and it dried in approx. 3 to 5 minutes. "

well, none of those say they "require". LIquid glass says to "bake" but it sounds like that is AFTER the wax has been stripped and to allow for curing.

ALso, yes zaino "can" be applied in the sun, but I still recommend applying ALL products in the shade if possible.

The vast majority of my products say "do not apply in direct sunlight "

FYI "curing" does not mean to put the car out in the sun. It means after the wax has been stripped sit back for a few hours and let the polymers do their job. They need some time to spread out and bond to make a seal. Again, this is done AFTER the wax has been taken off.

I forgot, you are still an avid carnauba afficianado. You did like the NXT product though, didn't you? I remember you saying you tried it.

actually, I only use carnubas on my own car. I've got a ton of Polymers in my stable. Zaino, NXT, #20 Polymer Sealent, #21, Rejex a few others. I use polymers on customers cars mainly.

Was something I stated wrong??? I still don't see how you got to "they require it"

No, just recall some of your better work being done with carnaubas...when you posted pics, etc. Just wondering what your opinion was of the NXT.

Ya know, maybe I'll give the carnauba another shot now that I have the Makita polisher...maybe that'll bring the shine out that I couldn't get with it before...I used to be a Gold Class nut before LG.

no reason to switch LG is an awesome product. But if you do, give P21S/S100 a shot
