Wax Preference

So what do people prefer using on your car.

I am trying to figure out what I should get. I have Redondo Red Pearl TL, which is a pretty dark color and I have heard mix things about each product. I am really interested in depth and wet look. But at the same time I want something that will last for a while.

Any suggestions?

Wolfgangs Autobath
Wolfgangs Pre Wax Polish Enhancer
Wolfgangs Deep Gloss Paint Sealant
Followed with Four Star Ultimate Gloss Enhancer

The Wolfgang products are very easy to apply and remove. They leave the finish with a rich deep shine.

I think you'll be happy with any wax that you use that has a good brand name to it, especially if you go with a good polishing beforehand. Right now I have on Klasse AIO/SG and Meguiar's #26.

Everything still needs a good polishing thought.

Also, you can try looking around the Autopia forums, talk to GSRStilez, he has a very nice looking red car. Scottwax should be able to help you out a lot too.

I second Zaino. If your car is relatively new without any significant marring to the clear coat, I'd try zaino products. I think the website is www.zainostore.com. It's a showcar polymer sealant that really brings out the depth, and your red will look great after 2-3 coats of zaino product, Z-2. Also, Zaino applications have been shown to last for up to 6 months.

As another idea, I've always been a big fan of Meguiar's products. Their new NXT product line looks interesting, but some have said that applications of the NXT Tech wax aren't long-lasting.

In any event, your red will look even better after some care. Good luck!

Looking for wet, I'd lean towards carnubas. In general, they look wetter, but won't last as long as sealants (i.e. zaino). It's the prep work that will really make the difference though.

AIO/Zaino is my combo lately.

S100 is a carnuba wax that is sold at most Harley dealers for about $15.

Here are a couple of links where you can pick up AIO
www.properautocare.com
www.autogeek.net

Hope this helps

I liked the look of NXT. It gave me some pretty good depth and wettness. The slickness dropped off rather quickly for me. After a few washes, the slickness was practically gone. As far as protection, I think it gave me about 3 months before I really noticed the paint was lacking something.

Zaino slickness and durability just seems to last for a long long time. It's holding up through this winter just fine.

Claybar once a year (sometimes twice if we had a bad winter). Use the Mother's Clay bar system for that.

Wax is all S100 products. Use their car wash, polish, and wax.

I spaced the layers about 24-hours apart to let it bond, then a wash before the S100. Man, the depth of the Silver was awesome, the metallic flakes of the paint seem to glow.
I even tried it on a friend's Anthracite Accord and my Black EL and the effect was the same. It looks even better on dark paint. Never thought the NBP had specks of blue!

Just look at it this way, the Klasse will last for months but the S100 Carnauba will wash off after several weeks.

Good Luck!

I've got RRP and plan on going with AIO then 2-3 coats of Menzerna FMJ (probably Easter weekend if it warms up a little) I'll let you know how it works out!

Klasse AIO is amazing (look for it at auotgeek.com). It's a great light cleaner and makes your clearcoat feel like glass.

Top off with a pure carnuba wax - Megs #16 is my preference.

I'm a big fan of baby oil and a nice piece of 000 steel wool.....

or Zaino if you really want a nice shine.
