swirls return...FTL

ok as many of you know i frequently post pics of my CL after i detail it, and what not.
I use a porter cable to polish it and it looks stunning after wards in direct sunlight, but now im in college and i havent detailed it about a month.

so heres the deal. i cover my car with CoverKings stormproof carcover. ( $390) its awesome. And i quick detail it before i cover it up. turning the Micro after each little section.

but i now see ugly swirl marks again esp. in the hood and trunk. its really pissin me off. because i just polished and sealed it....why do i see swirls again?

is the carcover doing it. its been a little windy so maybe you think its scratching it as it moves a little in the wind (Ernesto esp.)

i hate our paint

What abrasive did you use to remove the swirls? Any chance it has a lot of fillers in it?

My thought is the product you are using is just masking the swirls instead of removing them and after time, the filler wears off and bam....swirls are back.

I'm going to put my guess in here

My guess is the car cover since you highlighted hood and trunk. I'm guessing the wind/storms might cause it to rub.

PB polish has no fillers as far as i know, the rest of your productions look great.

i would of thought that the carcover would scratch it, not make swirl marks. but I personally dont think its the cover. because the swirls look exactly the same as before.

maybe im just not getting rid of them good enough when i polish the car. so maybe its just me and my technique. ive always wondered if i was applig with the PC correctly. what speeds should i use with this products i mentioned?

i apply a section at a time with speed 3, east to west, then 4, north to south. should i keep at that section until it dryes a little? or just do the east west north south, because i dont continue to go over it until it dries. am i correct on this?

Finish the same direction you started with, so add one more pass, and overlap 2/3 instead of 1/2.
I would guess its the carcover or wash routine.

speeds 3/4 are more of a finishing polish speed to me...5/6 are for corrections, imho.

i guess when i do polish it, and it comes out lookin good, im just pretty much covering them up. so it looks like i need to be a little more aggresive with the PC and speed it up and follow through with my strokes a little more. huh?

are you using halogen lighting when polishing? pick a small section and test various techniques (PC @ 5 with light pressure going slow...PC @ 6 with light pressure, etc). you may also need SSR-2.5 rather than SSR-2.0? i haven't used 2.0...always 2.5 then 1 to finish. it just comes down to technique i think (which i am sure i still have a long way to improve myself).

can you post pics of the swirls?
