Removing tape residue from paint
A friend of mine had a tree limb break his rear window. While waiting to have it replaced he taped a piece of plastic over the window to keep the rain out. Now there is residue left behind by the duct tape. It is no longer sticky, but soap and water won't take it off.
I'm not sure if he has ever detailed the car, or do more than wash it once in a while so I can't vouch for the condition of the paint. It is a 2002 Lexus IS300 in black. He's asked me what I can do to help. The residue has been on the car since last fall.
Would the claybar remove this, or should I try something else first? I don't have pictures, sorry. I'll take before and after shots when I get around to taking care of it for him.
Thanks for your help.

Get goo gone or some adhesive remover. Should take it right off. Thats what most people use to get the glue after debadging the rear end.
If it doesn't come off with a rag, scrape it with a credit card.
