during the winter, i covered my ENTIRE car floor w/ plastic and used duct tape to tape it to some areas. i removed the duct tape and it left that gray "stain"/residue. you can't feel it, i tried to scratch it away but it won't. ...wondering if something will take it away???? any suggestions will help.


it's mostly on the material like the door sills, i guess it's plastic right?

Yeah GooGone is amazing, just used it this weekend to remove tape residue from my sister's jeep and it worked great (and has a fresh orange smell as an added bonus).

 

yeah, i was thinking of that product, but i assumed since you can't feel the residue (stickyness or whatever)... that it won't work. it's like become apart of the doorsill. like its paint.

 

in the future use gaffers tape. it's like duct tape, but leaves no residue upon removal.

 

I had the exact same problem when I had to tape my side view mirror on my car (after my car accident). All that residue was gone like nothing with Goo Gone. That shit is a-m-a-z-i-n-g.
