So recently i purchased a TE37 style wheel (avid1 es06 to be exact) but sadly they are blue. Its not that the paint looks bad, it actually is a nice metallic. Any way the clear coat on these wheels are flaking off pretty badly and im looking to remove the paint down to bare aluminum and polish them.
Now my question is, has anyone done this and what is the labor in doing this? im curious as to what the surface would look like under the paint if removed with aircraft paint remover. If gaining a polished look would be too difficult i may just get them sandblasted and powder coated. If anyone knows of a DIY or have had any experience in doing this i would appreciate some advice.
