Some people use a citrus mix prior to washing their car to remove the damned bug guts. I personally have not (they all have warnings that worry me a little too much), I use a microfiber wax applicator (Wal-Mart) and car wash solution to remove the splatter. I often do that part first since it's easier to see them before the whole car is wet. This took a little elbow grease but it worked. I recently purchased a Safe-T Scrub from Excel and will be trying that this evening for the first time. It uses the same principle as above but should be a little easier to use. I will let you know how it works.

BTW: For the windows I use the sponge wrapped in the scratchy white thing (not sure how else to explain) and it works really well. I don't let this thing touch the paint though.

A product you should be able to pick up locally is Stoners Tarminator. You can also try PB Bug Squash. You might also wanna check out Rejex for front end application during "bug" season. One of the keys to bug removal is to clean it before it dries.

I would second that vote for Bug Squash. I use the stuff pretty much exclusively these days.

Dissolves and removes bugs, oil and tar with ease. Works great on painted surfaces, fiberglass, chrome and glass. Will not harm clear coated paint or remove durable polishes.
Available here..........

I dont know what all these expensive things you ppl speak of.... For years all i've ever used for bugs & brake dust is WD-40. Spray it on & let it soak a cpl minutes b4 u wash ur car. Works amazing & has never hurt my paint on any of my vehicles. Did this on my Integra for years & years. You'll be amazed how well it works. Dryer sheets on the other hand u can rub on yourself when u go outside & it keeps the mosquitos off u.

The texture of a dryer sheet on my paint would scare me, even with water. I do to an extreme degree to only used the softest microfiber to avoid marring and scratches so a dryer sheet seems to be the other extreme. Do you really not have problems with marring when you do this? (I am asking because I am curious, not trying to say you are wrong).

dryer sheets woul not even be an option with me........The real trick with bugs/splatter is pre moistening. Just get it wet andkep it wet for a bit and the bugs juice will soften for removal...It always helps having a nice layer of UPP under it also!

Hey guys,

All you need to do to remove bugs is to use very warm water on a bug sponge.
The warmer the water, the best it will be. The only downside, it'll remove the wax.

the fresh coats of zaino and most recently DG AW basically had the bug guts sliding right off my car. i got back from a 90 mile drive (at night) through a TON of bugs. at one point i thought it was starting to rain because of the sound! the windshield was nasty...and the nose of my TL was just as bad. i just wet the front down, sprayed some AW onto a MF cloth and everything wiped away without any effort (this was the next day after it all dried on too).
