clstylz,

Thats just way too much work!

Washing weekly, spraying down with a QD (Quick Detailer) after every wash, monthly waxing and a 3 step process maybe every 3 to 6 months.

Now if you want to do it right may I suggest a stripping of all your polish and wax from your car's surface. Then use a cleaner, such as Meguirs #2 with an orbital, apply then Meguirs #9. Top that off with Meguirs #20 which is a polymer sealant and then you can give the finish an extra boost and layer of protection with Meguirs #26, a paste wax.

Now I do this with my clients cars, although I do not use the Meguirs line, I only suggest Meguirs because they are fine products and easy to get at the local car store.

The polymer will seal the finish much better and longer than carnuba but an addedl ayer of carnuba (without a "cleaner") on top of the polymer will only enhance the cars appearance plus give you water beading. Polymers usually "sheet" the water on the cars surface.

With this method you can add another layer of carnuba about every 4 to 6 weeks. The polymer underneath should last at least 3 months if not longer. Also, make sure you are washing with a soap specially formulated not to strip wax.

Happy detailing

Anthony

Car covers can scratch your paint at teh points at which it rests on the car. Over time, you'll get sort of a worn out look at teh corners, etc.

i disagree here...i ferget the name of the brand, but it's WeatherGuard or WeatherShield or something like that...won't scratch the paint...Vette and Porsche owners use em all the time around Long Island with no complaints

I'm kinda new, and I have never washed or waxed my car before. Any suggestions on what to use (also for the leather inside)?

Thanks

mrateb . . . if you email me, i can send you a 6 page guide I made up for new folks . .

it takes you through what materials you can select from, to how to wash and dry - then it goes on and in simple easy to follow format suggests how to apply the zaino products . .

even if you end up using something else - the first two pages are "brand free" wash and dry tips that will help . .

shoot me a mail at zainoguy@hotmail.com - and ill reply within 24 hours and you can print it out (word format)

it might save a lot of searching for ideas . . . its NOT the bible, but after about 2000 sends - not one complaint yet
