Interior Cleaners/Conditioners?

Need to do the first big clean on the interior of my car this coming weekend to get her ready for the summer sun. I was wondering what the community is using as cleaners / conditioners / protectorates on the interior of their cars? I am mostly concerned with the top of that dash since that takes the biggest beating from the sun. I will be using Lexol products on the seats.

Maybe others know more -- and I'm interested to see... but I just use normal armor-all on the dash and plastic inside.

And from the makers of Lexol comes Vinylex for the Dash. Thats what I use and swear by it. Not too greasy but not too watery either... the perfect shine.

I just tried out Meguiar's leather cleaner/conditioner and it worked well. My seats were starting to have a blue tint to them due to the dye from my jeans rubbing against them. Meguiar's removed all the blue and they look good as new!

The 303 Protectant works VERY well. For the seats, I've had excellent luck with Zaino Z-9 and Z-10. The smell is as good as when you drove it off the lot.

I use a combination of stuff.

For Vinyl I use Meguiars professional mirror glaze series Vinyl and Rubber cleaner and conditioner.

For leather I will used Pinnacle leather cleaner but will go with Meguiars Professional detail series all purpose cleaner 10:1 for stubborn grime and stains. I use a leather brush and interior brushes. You can also use it to spot treat carpets. After cleaning the leather I use pinnacle leather conditioner. The Meguiars gold class series mentioned is pretty good and readily available over the couter.

For Carpets I use the Turtlewax OXY power out you can buy at your local parts store. I will use it to spot treat areas and blot with a towel or I will spray the floor mats off with a hose and use my wet/dry vac to soak up any water left over. I will do the same with the interior carpet but will use a spray bottle filled with water to spray over the area after I spot treat it then blot then soak up with the dry/wet vac. Buy an interior brush to scrub the carpets don't use the scrubber on the top of the can, they are worthless and it will help work in the product to get the stain(s) out.

If the whole interior is a mess with spots, grime oil I will use my rug doctor and shampoo/steam clean all carpets and fabrics. I still use the Turtlewax power out interior cleaner to spot treat. I own one but you can rent these at Giant, Harris Teeter or just about any grocery store.

Matter of fact you can only buy this product at boating supply stores or online. You can get a sample from their website:

That way you can try it before you buy it. Been using it for years

Also read about it in the Wash and Wax section from actual detailers.

Mr. Clean magic sponge on ALL surfaces. Cleans the crap out of them leaving them clean and dry looking just like how it came from the factory. No nasty looking greasy shines that products such as armol all leave.

If you do want to use a cleaner and conditioner I have used Zaino and its probably my favorite and smells the best (almost like a new car).

Yup.. this is how I do my leather.. and then I just make sure to condition it right after! People are amazed when they see it and say that I maintain my leather so well eventhough my car is 3 years old.

thread resurrect...

Any recomendation on what cloth to use for the dash, and which for the seats? I have a bottle of that Mequiars leather stuff that i'll try to finish then probably switch to Zaino since it seems to be recommended here. I'll stop by some boat shops in the area to see if I can track some 303 stuff down.

Should be good with a MF (microfiber) for dash and seats.

I tried the rejuvinator oil and pristine clean from http://www.leatherique.com/
This worked great. Leather smells like new and has a matte finish. Just like new.

303 is the best in terms of protection. And unlike the other products, it leaves a matte look, which IMO looks so much better.

I'm getting ready to try Sonus interior kit

http://www.autopia-carcare.com/son-leather-kit.html

Has some pretty good reviews and pretty well priced. The eclipse is to help your interior against the sun and such.

You can use this on the dash? Works well eh? I have got some left over from when my S2000 had a soft top. Use to work very well on the tops!

I've got the Lexol Leather Cleaner and Conditioner for the seats!
