Pre-soak your car with some bug, sap, and/or tar remover. Follow up with a wash using the two bucket method.

I have an old fleece type blanket I place over the front of the car and wet it down and leave it for 20 min or so then wash normally ..

If they have been there for a while you might need to polish them out if they are etched in .

Use this stuff. I'm always amazed at how well it works.

Prevention is best- Meaning- Wash and thouroughly clean all paint- especially the front. THEN- 2 or 3 good coats of synthetic wax. Synthetic lasts longer. You'll find that when you go to clean off bugs- Frstly- there will be a lot less because they just deflected off- and "B" they won't stick as much so removal is a cinch...

Mooisture, as Dale stated is the best known. It softens up the splatter allowing for easier removal......Keep the area wet, they'll soften up and wash right off!!

twice a week i drive to work early in the morning, and cross over a lake where a lot of bugs hang out and end up on the front of my car...

when i wash i presoak the frontend and start cleaning the wheels, tires and wheel wells...after each wheel i keep spraying down the frontend...by the time my wheels are clean and i go to wash the rest of the car the bugs are pretty soft and come off easy.....

If you hit any part of the I-5, even in Northern Cali, you'll definitely hit some bugs, hehe. Of course it woudn't be as much compared to the Midwest.
