What do you guys think about the California Water Blade?

I've been thinking about getting one, to dry off my car a little quicker when i'm in a hurry. It doesnt scratch or harm anything does it? Positives? Negatives?

I've got one. Works pretty well, helps if the car has some kinda wax on it - then the water just glides off. The blade itself won't scratch anything.

The problem is that it can trap dirt, etc in it's blade. The particles could be so small that you can't even see them, then scrrrrratch. If you use it only on a clean car and also clean the blade, there should be no problem. The mistake I've heard a few people make is that they didn't store it in it's plastic packaging, and it got dirt on it from sitting on a shelf.

EDIT: like brian6speed, I haven't used it on this car's paint yet (did on the last car, but it had crappy paint anyway). I just use it to get the water off the windows in the morning if I leave the car out at night.

I dry my car now by just zipping up the road a little ways. It gets the tires dry, and most of the water off the car. Then I use a clean towel or chamois to take care of the rest of the water.

yeah, works great, really saves a lot of time. Just make sure you wash the blade before use.

Also make sure you don't drag the handle across your car. I did this a few times & put a few little scratches on the car. The blade works great for me. I had the same one for 3 years now & use it on every car I wash.

Well i went out and bought one yesterday and used it. Works great. Cut my drying time by at least 75% i'd say. After using it, i rinsed it off and put it back in its original box and sealed it back up. I'm gonna keep on doing that so hopefully no dirt becomes attached to it. Didnt think it was that pricey though, 19.99 at Target.

I have been using the Blade for about 5 years ,and have had no trouble at all with it scratching . I have one for each car ( 5 cars) and even use it on my wife's Aston-Martin Virage...Blade then
Absorber does it all.

Ok check this out. I used to have a black silverado I used the waterblade on. I got sidswiped by this old guy damaged the full length of the truck. The first time I used the waterblade blade on the repainted area of the truck it scratched it all to hell. So i guess as long as you dont have cheap ass body shop paint you'll be ok. Although what I've found works best is an air compressor with a moisture filter on it.

I have used these years. I actually like my cheapo department store model better than the water blade. As long as the car is really clean when you use it they won't scratch.

California Car blade all the way. I have used it on all cars that I have washed. I see no evidence of any scratching.
BEWARE, tightly grip the handle because if the blade catches a crease it slam down onto the paint. I learned this lesson when I first bought mine 5 years ago.

i unno bout you guys but da Cali Blade is just another useless drying product... the blade makes da most IRRITATING squeegy sound, and deceitfully scratches my black finish... If yall really love your AC's, go through the labor and stick wit da CHAMOIS.

The California Water blade is made out of Surgical rubber, It can not scratch the paint unless the car is not clean!!!...

I admit i was very skeptical about it at first.

Been using it for 2 yrs now and it works like a charm....
