polymer and a brand new car

so...do I want to apply several layers of a good polymer protectant to a brand new car?

If so I should do it by hand and avoid any power tools in the application process.

Does fresh factory paint provide a protective barrier?

I have 2 layers of Zaino Z-2 on my TSX. That stuff is great. Very easy to put on and take off without a buffer. The dealer waxed mine with something before I picked it up. The "fresh" paint from the factory is atleast 4-6 weeks old maybe more depending on how long it was sitting on the lot. www.zainostore.com for Zaino products.

thanks for the comment. I want the paint to look better than new.

Sounds like you like Zaino. Have you ever used Fast Finish?

Never heard of fast finish before. As said by floridaowner any wax is better than none and do it often. It makes it easier to put on and take off when you have wax already on there. I can wash my car really good, dry it and wax it in about 1 1/2 hrs.

Check the drivers side door jam for the build date of your TSX. (To see how long the paint has been on the car.)

Man, you're fast! It takes me ~3 hours just to wash mine. Waxing takes ~ another 3 hours.

yeah, I got a system to washing my car. Hood, front bumper, and then move around the car. I use 3 towells to dry it off, I use two to get all the water that beaded up, and then one to catch anything I missed before and to get inside the door jams, under the hood, gas lid, and trunk. I wax the car by doing it all at once and then by the time I'm done waxing, where I started at has dryed up to a nice haze and makes it really easy to wipe off. This does not include vacuuming the inside or wiping down the dash, seats, etc. Thats another hour for all of that. I only do this about twice a month or depending on how dusty the inside is. I wash it every weekend though

Do yourself a favor an just get one good, large microfibre towel. Unreal how much water these things can soak up (and will leave NO STREAKS). I just zanoed my car recently. I had to wash it 2 times (once to clean it, the second after clay baring) and used the same mf towel. Worked like a champ...

i sometimes use microfiber towels to dry the rain off my car. it is amazing how dirty they get from drying rain- you won't believe how dirty rain is until you use these. i then wash them in washing machine with regular detergent(no bleach) other than that i use the diaper towels for buffing when i wax.

I use microfibre towels to take the Zaino off. The only one's I've been able to find that are kinda big are about a fourth the size of a regular bath towel. I'll keep looking.

I have an RO buffer and got some mf bonnets for it to buff off the zano. Then I use a small, mf pad to take off the small spots.
