Car Wash By Carb

Here is what I use to clean my TSX. I've found the best luck using the following products.

Water (in a spray bottle): General interior and glass surfaces
Lexol Leather Conditioner: Leather Seats

Mr. Clean Auto Dry System: Car Wash
California Water Blade: Drying
Microfiber Towels: Drying

Armor All: Tires
Armor All Wheel Cleaner: Wheels

Meguires NXT Car Wax: Wax
Meguires NXT Booster Car Wax: In-between waxings

I park my car under an OEM car cover at home, commute 90 miles every work day, and park under an OEM car cover at work. It gets dirty, fast. I do all of the above twice a week except for waxing. I only wax once a month (I wax frequently because I park outside). However, I "booster wax" once a week.

I'd really like to know what other systems you may have--what works and what doesn't work. Thanks!

That's pretty thorough - probably more than most folks.

Once I use the last filter & soap in my Mr. Clean I will retire it to the trash can. It leaves a film on my cars. Since you park outside so often I would suggest clay barring the car every 3-4 months. BTW, I love the NXT wax - so easy to use. Also, ditch the Amorall for the tires & wheels - try Meguiars Endurance for the tires & their 'Hot...' something for the wheels.

Armor All is good as a tire dressing, you ever use it? Nice satiny sheen that lasts for quite a while.

you don't feel you'd look foolish doing this - putting the cover on & all - in view of other people/coworkers ?

Why would he feel like a fool. To each their own....he really likes his car to be clean, and if covering it keeps it clean, then you gotta do what you gotta do.
If one of his co-workers says something...give em the reply I give people when they have something to say about anything I do the way I do it..."Eat a dick"

I have to put on a car cover because I work in San Juan Capistrano, CA. The town is best known for the swallows returning to the mission every year. So, to avoid bird crap disasters, most of my coworkers, with cars that they care about, put on car covers. I got the idea from them.

The fact that you have two drying steps after the Mr. Clean "Auto Dry System" doesn't appear to be a great endorsement for that product.

Yeah, you're right. I'm actually not thrilled anymore about my Auto Dry system. Especially after Miner told me about the film residue, I noticed that I had the same problem. Any suggestions for wash system?

From the "Sorry, Not My Department" Department:

Oh, I don't have any suggestions for alternatives. I specialize in pointing out problems, not offering solutions. It's a gift.

I just use a light mist for final rinse and dry with terry towels. Nothing fancy.

you may want to look into pinnacle waxes at www.pinnaclewax.com
they are known to be very expensive but top of the line- all of their waxes as well as detail sprays.
