I use one on my current car. It works great if you use it very lightly and do not apply too much pressure. The parafin wax on the cotton can leave greasy streaks on your finish if you press too hard. Absolutely do not make the mistake and purchase one that has a plastic handle. It is CRAP! Only purchase the duster with the wood handle. The duster is only good for light dust. I use the duster prior to using NXT Speed Detailer spray and a microfiber cloth. The microfiber gets very little dirt on it if you use the duster properly. Also, make sure you lay the duster on newspaper for a couple of days prior to use. Flip to the other side after the first day. You can purchase one here . Enjoy.

I think the California Car Duster is a must have in any garage. My dad has had one for as long as I can remember, and we both use it religiously between washes to remove dust and pollen, and it wors great. I have the mini duster with me at school to dust my interior. The dirtier it gets, the better it works!

I'll use it between washes to remove pollen mostly, then follow up with a quick detail spray.

Sorry for my ignorance. But, what does laying the duster on news paper prior to using it, do?

When used right out of the bag, you may see some streaking. Laying it or wrapping it overnight in newspaper removes the excess parafin wax.

2 thumbs up to this. works well for removing dust, just don't press too hard. i just flick it back and forth basically as if you were dusting the car - not buffing it. I work in a dusty part of the city and by the time it's quitting time there's a nice thin layer of dust on there. 5mins later of using this and the NHB has had its sexy restored

I've used one for years, I don't even remember how many years. Keeps the car fairly clean in between washings as long as it doesn't rain or get wet. I agree about the wood handled ones, much better quality.

I dust my car everyday when I come out of work. Everybody there thinks I'm nuts, which I am of course. One day a woman was walking towards me and I said "i know, i know, i'm crazy" and she said, "that's why the car looks so good!'.

The CA Duster comes wrapped in plastic and needs to air out prior to use. The soft bristles are coated with a Parafin Wax. I believe the Instructions on the product will tell you. After removing the plastic shake it out and place it on some newspaper in the garage. Shake it and flip it on the other side the next day. You will see some of the oily Parafin Wax on the newspaper. Don't worry, it's normal. After about two days try a test spot on your car to make sure it does not leave any oily streaks. Enjoy!

Thanks for the info. As I type this reply, my CA duster is drying out in the garage.

I noticed that HomeDepot carries the CA duster. Runs around $20. This is the model with the wooden handle.
